    Hi All,

I'm hoping that a guru in here will be able to give me an insight on how to fix our problem.... recently we closed our Fiscal Year 2009. (so now, GL10 shows Current year as 2011, Last Year 2010). but after reviewing our Statements, it showed that there was a incorrect posting that's affecting our FY09 ending balance. Is there a way to fix this?

I read the Financial Conversion Guide, but realized that running GL65 is not possible because our calendar year is not open for Fiscal year 2009. And using GL167 is also not an option because of the same problem..

Can someone please help me on this? any suggestions/idea will be appreciated...

    Have a good holiday weekend

    Thanks

Once you final close a year, it's final... the only possibility to changing information would be (risky) to change the data directly in the database. Otherwise, you best bet is to post the entry to Jan 2010 so that the balances for 2011 are accurate.

If 2009 is in "Limited" close then there is a possibility of openning it up for back posting and making a journal entry.

But if you have 2011 as your current year Lawson allows you to have as much as 2 years with a limited close and the rest of the years to be a final close. In this case 2009 would be final close but if you want to adjust year end balance for 2009, the way you can do that is making an entry for the beginning balance for 2010 by openning it up fpr backposting ie if 2010 is in limited close. This will carry the balance forward from 2010 onwards.

If 2010 is in Final close there is no other way to make an adjusting entry.

we are having same issue. Found KB 101300, but it requires clearing all period data for a company which is not an option for us.
