Does anybody know the linking between RWDICT and the actual file/fields being used from the G/L when a report writer report executes. I view the RWDICT data and I see a valu of CPBUD and a description, but were does the value come from that prints on the report?

    As always Thanks!

My advice would be to not waste your time trying to reverse engineer it and just embrace RW100 for financial reporting. The sooner you do, the less time (and frustration) you will waste.

As far as where CPBUD data comes from, try FBDETAIL.

I agree with Chris, but for what it's worth...
You need to decode the CASE1/CASE2, etc. field in RWDICT. If you look at the dictionary text for RWDICT, it will explain a lot. If you really want to dig into the code, look at RTDCT in the glsrc directory (or glsrc/glpdlib for 8.1/9.0 apps.)

I would agree with Chris, but we are in the process of converting from Lawson 6.1 on the iSeries and converting to Oracle Financials. Over the past 8 years we have generated close to 4K reports. We are now trying analyze all the reports and remove the duplicates.

          Thanks for all your help.

In that case, I think I'd start over and analyze out what the user community wants before I'd try to reverse engineer 4K reports and decide where they overlap. Good luck!
