Subsystem Journal Descriptions

    We recently went live with Lawson payroll and are wondering how the description of journals posted from subsystems can be changed to be more informative. For example, the bi-weekly payroll posting entry has a description of "expense accrual" for each entry posted. We would prefer to change the description to something like "Payroll PPE 08132011" so that review in GL90 would differntiate the various entries.

      Option 1: you will need some expertise in the 4GL environment. This particular message is defined as message# 117 under msgmnt for PR198. You can change this message as you need, maybe with a variable and then change the logic in PR198PD to populate this variable.

      Option 2: have a stand-alone process that runs after PR198, to update the descriptions of the journals created.
