PR13 and PA52 receive Tax Warning errors

Started By  Lisa
We are seeing the error message 'Warning-tax errors; partial tax update; use PR13.8; OK to Cont' when we make a change on PR13 (US Tax withholding) or PA52 (Indiv. Action).  We see in PR13.8 the message 'BSI Warnings found; review BSI Tax Locator messages'.    However, when we look in BSI Message viewer, there are NO error messages for the employee that we are updating, yet we always get that message when updating that employee.   Is there somewhere else in BSI that is holding an error   Why do...

Is anyone importing a Benefitfocus Payroll Deduction File to their Lawson Payroll System

Started By  agersh
I am working a vendor named Benefitfocus to rollout their benefits enrollment system to our organization. Our Lawson system will be the system of record for Employee Demographics, and Benefitfocus will be the system of record for Benefit Elections. The biweekly, changes only, Payroll Deduction File that Benefitsfocus will provide supposedly is compatible with the Lawson PR514 - Employee Deduction Master Load. Is anyone currently using Benefitfocus and have experience importing their Payroll Dedu...

HSA Payment Overrides

Started By  Mary Porter
Is it possible to set up a BSI payment override for HSA deductions We followed all of the normal steps and double-checked our work but can't get the deduction to take. We have both employer and employee contributions and want to combine them up to the limit. If we code the deduction as a (20) Single on PR05 it won't even take anything without the override. Appreciate any ideas, BSI is not responding to our request for assistance.

F1 Visa and Fica exemption

Started By  Colleen Bertagnolli
We have an employee with an F1 Visa (which payroll just learned of after 2 pay cycles).   I am wondering what is the best way to have the employee's FICA and Medicare not process.  I am thinking to disable those taxes on the PR13.7 for that employee.  Any thoughts or drawbacks to this solution   Any insight would be much appreciated!

PA113

Started By  Holliey
Is there a way to clean up retroactive history that appears on pa113  Before we didn't knew that flagging down the retroactive history option could actually not create any history. We are now using the flag down option but for initial years there are certain employees with about 300 pages of history and its hard to look into the required info. So how can we clean that up Any suggestions   Thanks!

Vote solicitation - ER25422 PL name and Address on ESS pay checks

Started By  Margie Gyurisin
The newer HS23 and EMSS have options to change company name to Process level on the Main tab of the HS23.  What I've discovered is that on payments, it pulls from the employee's current process level.  It does not pull based on the PL that issued the check nor does it pull in the PL address. I'd like to see that option and functionality added, please. Thanks.

Please Vote ER 25947 - Defined Contribution plan Match Issues

Started By  Margie Gyurisin
When you have a DC plan with company matches to all employee deductions and the employee elects to contribute in more than one way, the full match is at risk when the employee maxes out their contribution in one of the deductions before the match has been fully fulfilled. For instance, if I contribute 10 PT and 10 Roth, I recieve wages high enough to cause me to max out at the annual limit (currently 18,500) and takes 10PT but only 2 Roth, my fullemployee match will not be taken in most cas...

Functionality options for 403b (401k) Employer Match?

Started By  TressaG
Our organization is looking to setup 403b biweekly ER match to begin 1/1/19. Currently it is an annual process we perform/calculate at year-end, outside of Infor/S3. We are a fairly new customer; just implemented TM v11 and S3 Payroll in October 2017. We have not implemented the TM Benefits module yet and we do not use any of the S3 Benefits functionality. Currently our benefit vendors provide deduction files that are loaded directly via PR514. I’d like to get  feedback on our best options for s...

Implementing Multiple Positions

Started By  Deb Roberts
We just upgraded to v10 recently and are looking to implement multiple positions.  Currently, we allow 1 position per employee.  We are looking for guidance from organizations who already have this in place who can provide us with considerations in setting it up.  Specifically, any lessons learned, things to watch out for or things you would have done differently in the implementation phase.  Thanks in advance.

Get list of Employees with Address changed

Started By  viet
I'm digging through HRHISTORY to query for USER_ID / EMPLOYEE ID to create a list of EMPLOYEE that have changed their ADDRESS recently. Do you have any experience with that So the query should look something like this: select FIRST_NAME, LAST_NAME, ADDR1, ADDR2, ADDR3, ADDR4, CITY, STATE, ZIP, convert(datetime,DATE_STAMP,101) AS DATE_STAMP from HRHISTORY right join EMPLOYEE on EMPLOYEE.EMPLOYEE = HRHISTORY.EMPLOYEE where convert(datetime,DATE_STAMP,101) > {current time - 14 days}

New Jersey Equal Pay Act Data

Started By  Brittany G
I wanted to find out how others are tracking New Jersey Equal Pay Act Data. We were asked by HR to track education years of service, Educational degree and work experience date.  For education years of service our facility is giving the employee a number such as 12 if you have a high school diploma or equivalent. 14 if you have a bachelors degree. Date field for Work experience. I am now tracking these items using HR11 user fields. PA20 would not work for us because it does not track history. ...

Aftertax benefits for late enrollees?

Started By  Kristie Starzyk
Does anyone allow employees to enroll past their 30 day deadline, but instead put them in POST tax benefits for medical, dental, vision instead of the pre-tax benefits for the remainder of the year  This has been brought up as an option someone had at a former employer, but we weren't sure how 'popular' this is.  We normally say no if they are past their deadline.

Multiple W4

Started By  Keiko
We have a set of doctors that have one job as a regular employee and then a second job as a 'moonlighter' under a different EIN number. We currently have them in the system twice with two IDs each under the respective company, but this throws off reporting and causes other issues.  So we want to go to a singular ID with multiple positions, but Payroll wants to have 2 different W4s. In order to allow for a W4 under each process level so that each W4 will allow for a different setup under the ap...

Setting Up Catch-Up Contributions as a Separate Plan

Started By  dmcgoldr
Does anyone have any experience or recommendations with regard to setting up a separate plan in Lawson for Catch-Up Contributions  We are currently administering catch-ups in BSI.  But we are finding that BSI enforces the combined limit of $55k even for our catch up population.  So we are considering setting up a separate Catch-up plan, not subject to the same limit schedule.  This will hopefully allow our participants to reach the $55k limit plus the $6k catch-up.

Supervisor Hierarchy

Is anyone aware of any “add on” software that could be used for additional hierarchy functionality within Lawson I know we were going to gain this additional functionality within LTM; but since that project was placed on hold at our organization; wasn't sure if there were other ther vendors in this area that have something that could be used as an interim solution  Or someone has come up with a creative solution within S3.   Example of additional functionality needed: Ability ...

Lawson EnHancement 29429 - Please vote Lawson Payroll- BSI payment overrides

Started By  Margie Gyurisin
Your votes to make this happen would be appreciated.   Enhancement Request - 29429 Lawson - BSI interface to simplify payment overrides......   I would like to see Lawson and BSI come up with a solution to better manage the API calls from Lawson Payroll to BSI for the catch-up provisions of benefit plans.  We have to maintain over 300 municipalities in several BSI  Group override codes due to age and benefit types - DC plans and HSA plans in particular.  My understanding is that BSI has deve...

BS06.1 Benefits Cycle Rules

Started By  Margie Gyurisin
We've always just added records to the BS06.1 each year prior to OE and had one record per pay plan - we have groups on different OE dates and cycles. I was thinking more about this.  I think we should/could be adding one record each year and let the system calculate all cycles and dates with the calculate/add function. What do others do  Am I thinking correctly

Good Afternoon All,   We are starting to contemplate transitioning our position control from a one-to-one structure to a one-to-many structure and utilizing PA70 to track the Headcount and Total FTE.  Would anybody be willing to share how they utilize position control in Lawson  How is the Headcount/FTE Budget calculated to be loaded in Lawson  In talking with Finance they create the budget by calculating the annual salary plus cost of benefits (not necessarily the amount of FTEs that are bu...

BN32 Error - Premium record does not exist for emp

Started By  Kelci Hedrick
We're building new 403(b) retirement plans in Lawson, and so far everything is working well except for one plan - from what I can tell, it's set up like the others, but when I try and enroll eligible employees, I receive the error 'Premium record does not exist for emp' - I've searched high and low, but can't figure out what's causing the error. The retirement plan shows up in the employees' BN31.2 as a plan that they are eligible to participate in, but I receive the error once I try and add th...
