I am hoping someone could help me with BN12...   I am wondering how Lawson uses the Annual Additions field.

    • Is it the annual individual max limit?
    • Is it a combined individual limit of 401k and catchup?
    • Is is a cominbed limit of 401k, catchup and company match?
    • Is it just 401k?
    • Is it ALL plans that are marked as DC (including Retiree Medical Spending Accounts)?
    • Does it link to the Defined Contribution Deduction Class?

The Lawson Admin guides are a bit vague - they just say annual additions limit tells payroll when to stop deductions - but deductions of what?

    Thanks

      Shane,
Here's the information that I have found recently on BN12. During the regulart payroll process, when you run the PR197, it updates the BN56 with the compensation per person, per plan that uses the BN12 amounts. So if you have 2 deffered comp plans, there will be a record for each one on BN56, with the YTD hours and earnings.

If the earnings exceed the amount on BN12, then the PR140 job will not add a dedcution to be processed for that period, effectively stopping deductions.

We currently have an issue logged with Lawson on this, as PR197 appears to be adding incorrect amounts to BN56 for some plan participants. Hopefully I will get a resolution prior to our last payroll of the year.

Do you all have your 401(k) Catch Up set up through the PR14 or the BN31.2? We have ours set up through the PR14 but am getting questions from a non-Lawson user that it can be set up using the BN31.2.

Are you using the PR14 deduction that is not tied to  a DC plan?

The system will track your overrides using the BSI group code on the PR13 or HR11 tax tab and then tying it to the BSI overrides.
