We are just beginning to implement LAWSON.  We are looking for ideas on how to setup FMLA tracking for full time leaves and intermittent leaves of absence.  We haven't had much guidance so far from our consultants.  Basically what we're looking for is how to best track FMLA time taken and how to process it.  Our consultants are suggesting opening up the LP51 to our managers to input the leave and then having HR review it, but it doesn't seem logical to us.  Is there a way to track FMLA 12 weeks in LAWSOn, because so far we haven't seen anything better than the excel spreadsheet we've been using for years now.  HELP!

Start by reading Phil Simon's article: https://www.lawsonguru.co...nce-Management.aspx.  You might want to just hire Phil, and throw out the consultants...

Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

        Too kind...

Yeah, the article walks you through the setup. Although there's quite a bit more to it than Time Accrual, the outputs justify the inputs, in my humble view. I love Excel but there's simply no comparison here.

Your information has been helpful for the creation of an LP plan to help manage FMLA if FMLA is administered on a year to year basis, rather than a "rolling" calendar year. We, along with many other companies, utilize the rolling calendar year to calculate leave entitlement. Does Lawson absence management have any way to calculate leave entitlement on a rolling year - meaning if an employee takes 8 hours of FMLA on 1/1/08 that same employee's FMLA balance increases by 8 hours on 1/1/09?
