We are comparing our HRIS stucture. Currently we have a HRIS Analyst Sr and HRIS Analyst who handle all aspects of our ERP, ATS, and Time & Attendance both technical and administrative. I wanted to know what other organizations HRIS Structures look like. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Is HRIS housed in HR or in IT or a combination?

What areas are supported by HRIS?  For example:  HR, Payroll, Personnel, Benefits, etc.

What types of applications are supported?  For example: HR ERP, Time & Attendance, Talent Acquisition, Employee/Manager Self-Service, etc.

What level of support is provided by HRIS?  For example, Reporting, Configuration, Code Editing/Programming, Training, etc.

What is the size of the organization (number of employees)?
What is the size of your entire HR Department?

How many HRIS staff do you currently employ?  If any IT staff performs these duties, please include those people in the count.

What are the job titles of the HRIS staff? (and/or IT staff performing HRIS duties)

What is the mid-point of pay for each job title? If possible, please provide job descriptions for each job title.

I would be very interested in any responses you receive. We are in the same spot and I am currently starting work on a "roadmap" for HRIS. Today we have a Sr. HRIS Analyst (me) and an HRIS Analyst as the entire group. We are housed in HR, but work closely with IT resources assigned to support our ERP. We support all HR areas (comp, benefits, retirement svcs, employee/mgr self-service, recruiting/employment, workers comp and employee health). Payroll is officially housed in Finance and has a dedicated functional business analyst, but most of the payroll work is handled by HRIS and an experienced IT business analyst.

HRIS handles most of the reporting needs for the organization (about 10,000 employees across several regional sites), I do all of the perl/javascript/html coding for our self-service interface, and we lead projects for the HR department.

I will send you a private email also.

Tried sending you a private message here on LawsonGuru. When I hit send it looked like it sent, but then I received a critical error, so not sure if you received it or not.

If you want to share information, send me your email via private message on here. Chris
