Has anyone found a way to do a negative retro pay calculation in Lawson? We have an employee who had a job change which resulted in a reduction in pay that should have taken place on 4/29/12 so we have to take back the reduction amount. We tried entering a negative percent or a negative $ amount in pr131 but it won't take negatives.  So if we can't make this work then we will need to do it manually but it would be nice to see if the system could do it.

We add the negative amount to the employee's timerecord once it's moved out of batch status.

Thanks for that - can you tell me if you are able to use Lawson to calculate the negative amount for you? Or do you calculate it manually?

We calculate it manually.  If you do it via Lawson you'll have a negative check.

So what we ended up doing is putting in the difference between old pay rate and new pay rate as a positive number in PR131 which calculated the correct difference and assigned it to the correct accounting units/job code. then we ran PR131 in update, then went to PR36 and changed the time records that were created to negative numbers. She will have enough regular pay to offset the negative amount that we are taking back.
