I need help.  We are on v10.  I need to know if payroll jobs can be shared among PR users?  We have 3 PR resources.  Each of them at any time could be the 1 running payroll.  I'm being told that they all 3 have to have all the PR jobs duplicated under their user id or we have to go with a generic user id, create the jobs 1x under that generic id and the 3 employees will have to log in as that generic id in order to run the jobs.  Maintaining 3 sets of the jobs opens up the risk of someone making a change to a job and it not being synch'd with the other two copies.  Is there anyway to create 1 set of jobs that can be ran by either of the 3 of them while logged in as themselves?  Our Audit dept does not like the generic user concept b/c they lose auditability of which user ran the jobs.  Please tell me there is another way to manage this.

I'm not on v10 yet, but on V9.0.2 at least the ability to see other's jobs is controlled by security. As such the Payroll department is quarantined (no one else can see their jobs) off, they have a generic user with the appropriate jobs set up, but run them via their own username.

Unless the ability to see other's jobs was specificly removed in V10, I'd suggest that'd be the way you'd want to go as well.

Each time they run a payroll, they have to change some of the parameters. We create new jobs anyway so they are not overwritten in printmanagers.

No, other Payroll users do not need to create the job under their ID.  As long as they have security permissions for the jobs, they can look-up other users jobs.

          1.  Go to a job, example; (PR141)

          2.  Drop down on the user ID field on the job.  Select the user name ID who ran the job

          3.  Click on Print Manager

          4.  All of the jobs that the user ran will be available to view

          5.  Select the job you are searching for.  Open by double clicking from the print manager.  Data will display.

          Hope this helps.
