We are UNIX/8.0.3; How can I keep HR employees from seeing each other's HR information? We currently don't use HR security levels or record level security so I'm not familiar with those settings. The HR users are in different security classes.

Are you using Portal and/or ESS/MSS? If so, you can use the "Access" flag on RD30 (set it to 'N') if you don't want employees to see other employees. They will only be able to see their own records, and those of their direct reports. That is handled via IOS security.

If you're using LID, you would need to add record security via LAUA (and put EVERYONE in a separate class) to restrict employees from seeing other employees.

Of course my question would be...since their in HR, who maintains the other HR employee's records???
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

We use Portal and ESS (MSS is coming). I'm talking about "application" users - those that work in HR and need form access. They need to be able to access all employee records - except those of other people in HR. Update to HR employee records will be limited to a select few. We have the access flag on the application users set to "Y" so that they can see other employee records.
