We need to collect email address and cell phone numbers from employees and I don't see any way to do this natively in ESS on V 8.03 apps. I see email is in the Employee table but it looks like a user field will be needed for cell phone. Has anyone deployed a collection method such as this and if so by what method (DS form, custom program, etc.)? Also, anyone know if these fields available in V 9.X of HR / ESS? Thanks.
How about using the supplemental phone field in HR11/address tab as cell phone field? That field exists in both 8.0.x to 9.0.1.x. Then you can use DS to add a text notation for that as "Cell phone" and move the field boxes below the telephone? You should be able to do the same in ESS also.
Thanks, we saw that supplemental phone number field today, but were hoping to avoid creating a DS form. I guess the good news is the 2 data fields are both on HR11 so a knock off of this form would do the trick. Then we could capture the empno variable and populate the screen for them for future changes.
