Not sure anybody has ever used Oracle ProCobol or not but....  Been working with Lawson for about 21 years now and at both of my previous employers we purchased our MF licenses via Lawson.  I also used Oracle ProCobol which requires a MF license as well.  never had a problem compiling/executing Oracle ProCobol programs - never had a license issue and Lawson worked fine as well.

At my new employer, we are on Version 10 (previous employer was Version 8) and I can't get the Oracle program to compile.  I'm getting a license error saying I don't have a license.  Asked Lawson about it - they said it's Oracle's problem.  Asked Oracle about it - they said it's Lawson's problem.  Now they are both saying it is a Microfocus issue.  I looked up the error and one of the standard resolutions is to check and make sure specific files for the licensing are where they need to be.  Thanks in advance for any suggestions or input.

This is the error that I'm getting:

Micro Focus LMF - 006: You are not licensed to use this product or version.

When MF Cobol is first installed for Lawson if they don't have the licenses it will install with a 30 day trial. If they don't go back and install the permanent licenses then you could get that. You might want to go back to the person who installed it for you and check with them.

Thanks - that's a good thought but we have had Lawson for a few years so it wouldn't be a temporary license issue.  I just started at my current employer in July of 2015 and in my previous 2 jobs we had Lawson and were also able to compile and run Oracle ProCobol programs as well.  The nice thing about the Oracle tool is you can embed SQL and Stored Procedures very easily so for extracts they can run considerably faster than Lawson 4GL programs.  We don't use it to update data - just for extracts and reports primarily.
