Getting the error "Form Exceeds Limit Of 24 Lines" when doing an scrgen.  Removed all the lines I put in (restored the .scr actually) and did the scrgen and it worked.  Started by just changing the name of a tab from "User" to "User WMOS".  Did the scrgen and received the error again.  Any thoughts anybody??  Thanks so much in advance - I'm pulling my hair out!

      Hi LauraP!

Seems very odd.  Would you be willing to attach your original and modified .scr files, and maybe your error files?  Maybe we can see what's going on.

        Here you go

Modified - AR10.scr.new.TXT - Tab Heading changed from "User" to "LAWSON User Fields".  Length changed in detail from 04 to 18.  Did scrgen and rec'd error (attached)

Original - AR10.scr.original.TXT - Original with no changes - scrgen works fine

AR10.scr.err.txt - error generated when scrgen is run after changing Tab Name

The "SB" on line 345 is not lined up properly in the correct columns.

That was a typo - sorry.  I lined it back up and did scrgen again - same error.  What's odd is if I change the size to 18 (which is what it would be if I changed it to "LAWSON User Fields") but do NOT change the Tab Name - the scrgen works fine.  Only when I change the Tab Name does it throw the error of exceeding 24 lines .....

I think changing "User" to "LAWSON User Fields" makes the tabs too long to fit on one line, so it wraps and adds an additional line to the form. That makes it too long for the form.

                   Hi

Makes sense to a point - but if that is the case (and I'm going to try shortening it) - why would it let me change the SIZE of it in the detail below (From 8 to 14) and the scrgen works without issue - but once I actually add the additional positions between the quotes - the scrgen doesn't work.  I would think it would generate off of the detail and the sizes indicated in there?

Sorry - don't mean to be a pain - just want to understand.  I've been working with Lawson for almost 16 years and it is the first time I've encountered this!

YOU ROCK! I shortened some of the other longer Tab Names and was able to then change this one - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

The bottom part where you define the size is used to define the COBOL variables/structure of the transaction. In your example, that change is perfectly valid.

However,in the upper section you are defining the visual representation - and your change invalidates the form because it exceeds the limit.

Silly question - but how do I mark this as "Resolved" on the main form in this forum?  I see some topics have a green check mark that indicates resolved - I wanted to do that with this one but can't figure out how!

                        Thanks in advance,
                        Laura

Edit the original post. On the upper right of the post, there is a dropdown box for "Topic Status", change it to "Resolved".
