    Hello everyone,

I want to trigger a flow when someone populates "is a manager" flag in LTM. I want this flow to kick off and assign the "DirectSuperviros_ST" role in security. it's already being done as part of new hire security provision but I need to do it when someone is promoted to a supervisor position. Please let me know your suggestions.

    Thanks

      Hi adnan512,
Unfortunately, I don't believe it is possible to trigger a flow from a field change.

One option is to create a new action that is used to set the "Is A Manager" flag, and associate that action with a service and flow. If that flag is already being set through an action form, then you could use that existing flow to take the action you mentioned above. However, if someone changes that form in another way (i.e direct update rather than via the action form) then that action won't be triggered.

Possibly a better option is to have a flow that runs on a schedule that identifies the people who have the "Is a Manager" flag set, and compare that with the actors who have the "DirectSuperviros_ST" role, and either adds or removes the folks that aren't a match. This isn't instantaneous, but it may be good enough, depending on your requirements. It's definitely more fool-proof.

      Good Luck!

Thanks Woozy.. That is my alternate option to just schedule a flow that just check for "Is a manager" flag and update security on daily basis.
