Baby Steps Forward: IISWASPlugin dll

Started By  brihyn
Thanks to everyone here, i'm making steady progress on this install. At one point I had the Systems team revert my virtual back to an earlier state, and I think that wrecked havoc on my IIS websphere plugin. As I was working on too many other issues, I ignored it until now, but it's now becoming a blocking point to any more progress... When I try to browse to either the sso/ssoservlet or the snoop page on port 80 (9060 works fine) I get a HTTP 500 error: Calling LoadLibraryEx on ISAPI filte...

Move away from law_dba tables

Started By  Richard J Sculpher
Hi - when we create a new table that uses VARCHAR2 we have to add a line in the law_dba_table table to show that we are using VARCHAR2. Likewise we have to put new indexes in the law_dba_index table. The theory is that when the reorg runs it looks in the law_dba tables then dbdef for the data it needs to do the reorg. That's the theory...at the moment it doesn't always look in the law_dba tables. Lawson no longer support the law_dba tables - we can use them but they won't fix them if they bre...

iSeries Performance Problems

Started By  Walter
We've been having this issue for quite awhile.  I've open up cases with Lawson and it has come down to them suggesting that I should hire their Professional Services.  Before I do, I wanted to see if anyone has experienced this problem.  These are the symptoms. a) Our users run Lawson from Portal.  They're set up with dashboards, suited to their needs to allow them to run LBI reports.  When the performance goes bad, a user's home page takes a long time to load when they sign on or they do a r...

Hung Threads - Lawson crashes daily during business hours

Started By  Ron Maskal
We are IBM i, and run S3 Financials (AR, AP, AM, AC and GL).  We just upgraded Lawson from 9.0.0 to 9.0.1 and also upgraded our hardware, including moving from V5R4 to 7.1.  We use all 3 UIs (Portal, LID and LSO) and have MS Add Ins. Every since the upgrade, every day Lawson goes down due to 'hung threads'.  I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this and/or know someone who does.  Currently we have a Priority 1 ticket open with Lawson support, but this is 2 weeks now where we are con...

Alternate print directory

Started By  Roger French
Is it possible to set up an alternate print directory for Lawson reports Is it possible to set it up for everyone, or a named user I already know about and can use the 'Reports' feature in batch jobs which lets me name an alternate print file name for a specific report for a user, but I want to configure or name the print file directory for some named users other than LAWDIR/print, without having to reinstall the environment. Possible This is on windows environment. Thanks in advanc...

verifyibm crash

Started By  shea851
When I run verifyibm against one of my product lines it simply crashes the verifyibm.exe file.  It runs fine against the other product lines.  I'm thinking that something got messed up or corrupted during the product line copy process.  Anyone have any hints as to what file(s) may have issues that would cause this to happen  Thank you.

Lawson and SQL Server 2008 DBA Class

Started By  JimY
I am looking at sending our DBA to the Lawson and SQL Server 2008 DBA class being offered by Lawson.  He has SQL experience, but has never worked with Lawson.  Has anyone taken the class or know of it  Is the class worthwhile  I don't want to waste his time or our money if the class is not going to improve his knowledge any better than learning it on his own by digging through documentation or other means.  Thank you.

Lawson Application Performance Monitoring

Started By  Shari
Does anyone have suggestions for a Lawson end-to-end performance monitoring tool The objective of this tool would be to gain insight into application performance from the end user perspective.  We tested a tool called AppDynamics that in theory would be able to provide this information.  Due to the Lawson architecture (we did have a discussion with the folks over at Infor) we were unable to capture information from the end user, app server, web server and DB server to provide the end-to-end pi...

Setting up term for vi under ksh on S3 Windows SUA

Started By  LauaLuau
This is directed to those wanting to use the korn shell under Windows SUA for the purpose of looking at log files, editing config files, etc.  To me it sure beats the watered down LUU under LID for monitoring the system, but I still need to use LID to run the Lawson utilities.  I'm running S3 9.0.1.x right now under Windows Enterprise Server (WS 2008).  In order to set it up so you can use vi, you have to set the term, you can do it by instantiating the profile:     Start->Programs->Command P...

Tasked with Archiving/Purging our Lawson data

Started By  Greg Moeller
We've been assigned a task for creating a proposal for archiving/purging our Lawson data. We've been on Lawson now 12 years, and not one purge/archive program has been run.  I know there are certain regulatory requirements involved, but I'd be interested in hearing/sharing what other Lawson customers have already been doing. What brought this up was a Ciber-sponsered webinar today on their solution for archiving. Any high-level planning docs that anyone would be willing to share  Pros/Co...

Configuring Lawson for Oracle RAC

Started By  Doug Paul
We have been on Lawson S3 for a little over 3 yrs.  During our initial install our DBA configured the Oracle database as a RAC instance, but our Lawson installer only configured the application server to point to a single instance in the Oracle cluster. We now have a new DBA and he wants to get Lawson to take advantages of the Oracle cluster.  We have been playing with it in our Test environment and appear to have it working, but the only thing we modified to make it work was the tnsnames.ora...

Is it Add-Ins?

Started By  Shari
We recently moved our Lawson environment/application/database to Windows 2008 R2 64-bit servers (LSF 9.0.1.9 / Apps 9.0.1.7 / SQL Server 2008 / Lawson Security).  Performance has improved tremendously - however, there are times when our CPU spikes to 100 and I'm noticing it's caused by the db client msfdb2000.exe's - either one or many takes up the majority of the CPU.  User name is usually 'lawson'.  We suspect it's Add-Ins.  Is there any way to know, definitively, if this is caused by poorly-...

Lawson system backup

Started By  kathy yang
I would like to know if it is possible to do a hot backup for Lawson system Currently we do nightly cold backup for both Lawson app and database (Oracle), we are planning to do hot backup for both the app and db but based on Lawson support it would not be a good idea to do hotbackup for Lawson. Reason is that things are held in memory. Could you share your experience with Lawson system backup

Mass Delete Jobs?

Started By  This_Guy
Hey guys & gals... I know that you can use jobinq to review/edit/delete jobs one-by-one, but is there a way to mass delete these defined jobs I have an active user that recently realized you dont need a new job for each and every possible scenario (she figured out how to user parameters! Finally!!) so she has many many many defined jobs for AP520. Is there a way to mass delete these I suppose I could delete them from GEN tables, but wanted to see if there was a less daunting effort

Problem with Failover / Cluster mgmt

Started By  This_Guy
LSF 9019 / Apps 9015 Windows OS SQL 2008 DB We have our Lawson installed on Windows 64bit 2008 OS. We are clustered with all Lawson services: Dmgr, NodeAgent, Server1, LAENV, LDAP. I do notice that WAS comes up pretty quickly, and then the laenv fails to start. I try to manually start this with no luck. The only way I can seem to get the environment to start bac...

Can you JUMP 2 ESP's?

Started By  Deleted User
We are currently on ESP9 and are encountering a problem that may force us to go to ESP10 earlier than we wanted to.  I believe that ESP11 is currently available.  Can anyone tell if you can JUMP from ESP9 to ESP11, and if so, what the potential problems might be, if any  I don't particularly care to be 2 ESP's back, it's just sort of happened that way and I'm looking for a quick way to get current.  Thanks in advance for your help!

The value {1} is invalid for the parameter_TKN error

Started By  Deleted User
I'm working on an existing program that I can compile fine and run fine if I am using LID.  However, when I try to Add the job in Portal I get a 'The value {1} is invalid for the parameter_TKN' error.  When I click NEXT so the next job show up, I get the same error.  I am able to select the job when I use the drop down list but when I try to submit it, I get an error indicating that I need to Inquire first.  When I try that . . . the invalide parameter_TKN error pops up again.  For what it's wor...
