We had to change the hostname of our windows 2008 server that is running WAS 7.0 for Lawson. Does anyone have a process for changing WAS configuration to use the new hostname Since the nodes and cells all use the host name WAS will not run until I make the change but I'm not 100 sure of all the places that need to be changed. Any help would be great.

LDAP Bind to AD Breaks With New Domain Controller

Started By  Bil
We are using LSF 9 on Windows with ADAM as our LDAP provider. We have the LDAPBIND set up (to Active Directory) and working correctly for Lawson single sign-on.  Our network team is currently updating our Active Directory infrastructure with new hardware that will eventually be able to run AD 2008.  In Lawson, I can successfully change the LDAPBIND to use one of the new domain controllers.  However, when we power off the old domain controller that was specified in our LDAPBIND, users are unable ...

Unix to Windows migration

Started By  msjmg111
We are working on a move from Unix to Windows 2008 R2 64-bit VM and am looking for some help with the application server setup.  We host financials, payroll, purchasing, rss, ess, about 50 core users, 3000 ess users, etc.  We were told we build an 8 core server with 16 gb of memory.  It was also suggested that we use the Enterprise Edition of Window instead of Standard.   Our network staff wondered why not use Standard, noting that Standard allows up to 32 gb.  Any suggestions as to which to use...

Performance Issues

Started By  mwilliamson
We upgraded from LSF 9.0 to LSF 9.1, Apps 9.0 to Apps 9.1 in August and have been plagued by performance problems ever since.  We applied additional LSF patches and Lawson has helped with a few things on LSF but we recently found that  we were maxing out at 100 of our SAN disk capacity on ios reads, topping at around 1700. We had 6 disks. 2 days ago we added 2 more disks for a total of 8, now we see that we are not totally running 100 capacity but are spiking at around 3,000 ios.   We are a ...

New LSF9 installation

I am doing a brand new installation of LSF 9.0.1.7 on a Windows 2003 R2 Virtual DEV server. It's been awhile and there are a couple of new things that I have't worked with, specifically the Microsoft Visual C 2008 redistributable package and the Unix Utilities for Microsoft Windows. I know the Unix Utilities replace the MKS toolkit. Is there anything special I should know before I do the installation  Also, what is the Microsoft Visual C 2008 redistributable package used for  Thanks in adv...

Custom SQL table index not working

Started By  Joe O'Toole
I need to create a custom index on the Paymastr table which will basically be the same as Pymset4 except with check date descending. I decided to change the Lawson delivered Pymset4 index in our Test area to confirm I would get the desired results with the new index before I write code to leverage it. I changed the index attributes in SQL server and also in Dbdef to reflect the descending index element in Pymset4 and a raw SQL query using that index returns the data in the new order as expected....

Upgrading SQL from 2000 to 2005 or 2008 on LSF 9.00X

Started By  Joe O'Toole
I'm planning an update of our LSF from 9.004 to 9.009 and since the sleeves will be rolled up, upgrade our SQL 2000 instance as well. I've heard rumors about SQL 2008 quirks and wanted to hear about anyones experiences who has done this. Our SQL 2005 is Standard edition and will not install on top of our 2000 Enterprise instance. Our 2008 is Enterprise so it should be able to install as an upgrade. Thanks for any info.

WebSphere 6.1 - SSO Error

Started By  StephenV
Hi, We recently upgraded our WebSphere version from 6.0.1 to 6.1 on our iSeries.  We also upgraded Lawson from Apps 9.0.0.4 to 9.0.0.8 and LSF 9.0.0.3 to 9.0.0.9. On our test box, it ran fine.  We are running on an iSeries machine running V5R4 of the OS.  On production, now I receive an error message 'Portal cannot load because it cannot initialize the single sign-on component.' I've followed Lawson's suggestions (KB articles 5395756, 1000235, 5335439, 550535). There does seem to be a probl...

Servers committing suicide?

Started By  Phil Goldman
We are brand new to Lawson Financials. We are running the windows platform on 4 tiers virtualized on VMWare on top of C7000 enclosures and a LeftHand iSCSI san.  I'm sure I'm leaving out details that would help folks help us, so please ask away. We now have had two tiers commit suicide.  Both the BI server and the Web server have crashed so hard that Windows boots to the recovery console.  It won't even come up under safe mode (command).  We then have to go to back up and do a full server rec...

Upgrading applications from 9.0.0 to 9.0.1

Started By  Jeff White
We're starting the process of upgrading the applications from 9.0.0.4 to 9.0.1.5.  One thing that I'm trying to figure out, is how I'm going to handle all of the users job paramaters that were created under the 9.0.0 applications and convert them to 9.0.1. 1) Use jobdump to dump all of the jobs, find and replace old productline with new productline, delete all jobs under the old productline, then use jobload to load all of the jobs under the new productline. I guess what I'm trying to find...
