High volume transactions causing LSF9 problems

Started By  Dr House
We are currently running LSF9, MSP5 w/patches on AIX, in a 4 server environment (web/ldap/oracle/app). We are able to replicate a problem with the Lawson environment not being able to process transactions appropriately. After pushing through lots of tranactions (potentially 50k) in a short time frame (24 hours), our system begins to behave in a extraordinary fashion - but not in a good way. Basically we have a script that feed lajs batch jobs (jqsubmit -w), but the batch job submission will ...

SSO Windows -- Single Sign on

Started By  JY
LSF 9.0.0.5, Windows Server 2003, SSO, LDAP bind in place.  The situation I am describing is the scenerio where a user logs on to the domain (Windows XP w/s) and then has to re-enter credentials to log on the Lawson Portal.  It seems to me that it will be complex to capture the ID and password in order to log into Portal with IE.  Comments

Change control

Started By  Deleted User
We're looking for solutions for change control in response to an audit deficiency and in preparation for Sarbox in the future. We have custom code in: Design Studio Cobol Crystal Reports Perl Scripts And we'd also like to control application of Lawson patches. Here's the catch:  This is a sizable but not huge company ($150M) Some of this can be handled with proper processes and custom scripting but I'd hate to reinvent the wheel. thanks adam

java out of memory errors crashing system

Started By  elessarfl
We are experiencing sporadic (a few times a month) issue where multiple javacore dumps, heapdumps and Snap traces are written in rapid succession (a few minutes) to the $LAWDIR/system directory. This is quickly followed by the system freezing and the only way to recover is to bounce the Env. Is anyone else experiencing this We are LSF 9.0.0.5 patched up to current, Apps 9.0.0.4 on UNIX with AIX 5.3 and Oracle 10g and WebSphere 6.0.2.35 and MS ADAM. I have had several Lawson Cases open on this...

WebSphere EAR files won't deploy

Started By  Deleted User
Hello, We are in the middle of an ESP upgrade and our EAR files won't deploy.  We are actually getting an error 'The specified file is not an EAR, WAR, JAR, or SAR archive' when we try to Browse to choose the lawsec.ear file (and then move forward).  I assure you that the file is there and it is a valid ear file, but for some reason we are getting this error.  We have deployed ear files many times and everything has always worked, but something is different either in this ESP or in WebSphere....

Active Directory 2008

Started By  Deleted User
We are running LSF9 in a Windows 2003 server environment and using MS AD/AM.  The ldapbind was performed against Active Directory 2003. We're now looking at upgrading our domain controllers to Windows 2008 and Active Directory 2008.  Is anyone currently running their Lawson servers in an AD 2008 network (or with Windows 2008 domain controllers running in Windows 2003 domain mode)  If so, were there any issues encountered

Started By  Duane
Suddenly our Oracle resources are very thin and we are trying to figure out how to refresh Lawson production data to test. We want to use the Oracle 10g data pump. Any tips or suggestions which may be Lawson specific We are on 9.0.1 LSF and 9.0.1 Apps. Both test and prod databases are on the same server, along with test and prod environments.   Any input would be greatly appreciated.

LASE dies

Started By  Deleted User
We went up on LSF9.0.0.5 in February of 2009.  Since then we have had issues with LASE dying every once and awhile.  We have been working with Lawson on resolving this issue.  It occures (on average) once every other week.  We can restart the lase process and everything is OK, but we are really trying to figure out how to overcome the issue. We have applied about 4 PTs that have not corrected the issue.  Is there anyone else that is or has experienced this issue  Did you resolve it Thank...

Installing Patches in Batch mode

Started By  Deleted User
Hello, I am looking for a best practices in how to install PT patches in batch mode.  And I am looking for any input on these items: 1. The install document says to do a jar -xvf on the most recent patch.  I understand that, but does the batch process unzip the jar file for rest of patches automatically. 2. Then it says to run the installer.  Do you usually use all of the switches just to be careful or not java -jar FileName.jar -b DirectoryPath -p PackageName InstanceName 3. Is ther...

Finding Employee 'active' groups during a time period

Started By  oregon
Hi..      I am new to Lawson and I have a question that is probably pretty obvious to most Lawson users.   Question: What Lawson database tables do I need to use in order to get a group of ‘Active’  employees during a specific time period. Example: The time period might be from 2007 to 2009, and I need all the acitve employees during that time period.    I am having a hard time finding history and period where a group of employees were active.   If anyone could help me out, I would be...

Way to 'simulate' dual-login ID's in LSF9?

Started By  ShawnV
Hello anyone and everyone,   We are currently migrating from 8.0.3 to LSF9 (planning to remain on LAUA security).   Currently all the RSS/Portal people have 2 ID's for login.  One for ESS/MSS which is their 'LAN ID' and the other is their RSS/Portal ID which is their 'LAN ID'  'P'  (ie. ESS => 'm045757': Portal => 'm045757P').   In 8.0.3 we modified the index.htm & login.htm pages to create a login page for ESS/MSS and a login page for RSS/Portal.  The RSS/Portal page appends the 'P' onto th...

Employee/Company number changes

Started By  David Benayoun
Good morning all, I am pretty new with the lawson environment and I am getting used to it. Now I have been given a task which there has to be an easier way to do. We have a list of 454 employees whose employee and/or company numbers will be changing. As of right now the only safe way I know how to do this is manually doing it one at a time. So my question is if there is an easier and way faster way to do this. This week I needed to get a list of portal users and just did an ldif export ...

scripting help with sed

Started By  Greg Moeller
Hi, all!! I have a sys admin type question.  I'm working with the PR292 final files and have found that we need to do a search/replace in them...  don't get me started, please. I'm using the following: sed -e 's/some text/other text/g' output.txt I'm getting nothing but zero byte files for output.txt does sed have a limitation on line length  Some of those final files can get upwards of 30,000 characters on one line.  (That is how IL has to have them.) Other ways to do this  ...
