When the Global Security in WebSphere is turned on, starting the WebSphere services through windows services will not start - somehow after applying some environment patches, the SSL got foobarred - the services cannot complete the handshake. Does anyone have any instructions on how to configure WAS and SSL to work with LSF 9 or how to redeploy the application, perhaps Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you!!

I recently switched our Lawson and LBI to use completly SS including all ldap calls going over on LDAPS protocol porrt 636, our LDAPBIND is also set to SSL. The application and LBI are working well since past few months since the upgrade. A week ago I got ready to apply my first LSF post patch after SSL configuration. We are on Windows and upgrading from 8.0.3.7 to lsf 9. I noticed that the lawdir variable has changed from \LINTE\APPS to LSFAPP\LAW. It appears that for work files such as pr530, I need to change the external filename to accommodate the change in file structure. Is there a way to plug in the variable versus hard coding the filename with path' I've tried lawdir/productline/work/filename and I get the error; no such file or directory. All: Has anyone encountered where sometimes a Portal session will hang (indefinitely) with or without 'x number of items remaining' displayed in the status bar This 'seems' to be happening a LOT here, just after we do a search for a Lawson form from the upper right corner's search box. We're still in the implementation phase of Lawson. The users have been working in a training pdl, and as of next week, will be moving to a conversion pdl. I'm being asked if we can somehow get the User Analysis values copied over to this new pdl, however the users don't want all of the data copied over from training. Currently we are at 9.0.0.5(env),8.0.3 MSP 11(App), AIX 5.3.2, Oracle 10g, Websphere 6.1.0.17.Apache is the webserver. We are a healthcare company & we use most of the suites in Lawson. We're using 'laprint' on our Windows Server to print Lawson reports. When we do 'laprint -z7' the font size is very small and hard to read. When we do 'laprint -z8' the font size is readable, but then the reports are truncated along the right-hand side of the page. I tried 'laprint -z7.5' but the '-Z' option doesn't allow decimal values. Does anyone have suggestions (besides printing landscape) Gracias. -Michael

I have 2 database questions, (1) How often do we need to truncate the transaction log in the database or what size I need to keep Our transcation log file is growing too big and wonder what size I need to keep (2) Is there any risk to rebuild the index from LID  Will it cause the database fail or something else Any input will be much appreciated. Hi All, We are running with Application 803 MSP12 and want to upgarde to 901. What will be the shortest path Based on Lawson Article ID:557153, It looks like we can upgrade in one shot from 803 MSP12 to 901. But based on the latest Data Promotion Program available for us, we have only the DPP for going from 9004 to 901. So we suspect that we have to go in 2 steps: - first from 803 MSP12 to 90004 - then from 9004 to 901 Has anyone have such experiences TIA

We are trying to set up a DR box with all of our data ready to go.  We have a SAN that is set up to replicate all the data on it to another box and that comes up fine.  However, Tivoli was installed into /opt and we are having problems starting it.  We have copied all the files we believe are used for Tivoli but it will only start in config mode.  Does anyone have a document that outlines exactly what to files to copy, etc....  I haven't been able to find a good DR document on Lawson's website....

Hi All In the last few weeks since we have migrated our servers to a new IP address we have been getting reports from users wherein they see the lawson login portal screen in the middle of a  transaction. When they re-enter the user id and password they can carry on without issues and the transaction is saved. We are on a Win 2003 Server with LSF9.0 and a SQL2005 backend. For a development reason, I want to remove/clear an existing field condition on a specific field in a Lawson-delivered table using dbdef. Ok, so I'm in the table editing screens, and I'm clearing out the condition, and then try to 'save' the field.  (I'm using F9 to delete each line in this condition). The installation of the 'Application IOS' was successfull, but once done, we cannot start it. While the 2 others : bmp and lawsec were installed and started successfully. Hi, We are getting ready to publish our ESS sets to the outside world and I have the v8 ESS and ISA working very well. I see in the WWW thread that user schlenk was successful in getting v9 working with ISA and would be very interested in any input he might be able to add. Currently I am stuck with the url error message. I have not created another endpoint and would like to avoid doing this if possible....I have 20 environments that would need to be done. Are Oracle users out there using the varchar option for most or all tables  For all columns or just non-indexed columns We have always used VARCHAR for all the non-indexed columns and have no issue with it.  But lately I've begun to think that we should really be using this option for all columns.  The space savings would be significant and I can't see any real drawbacks at the moment.

How do you determine what to test and how extensive testing should be for an env patch  Many patches have 80 or more files in the patch and it is difficult to determine what changed (or what may have broken) in the patch.  We are having an internal debate on what constitutes a 'full regression test' and how much time and effort is involved.  What is your approach to applying patches and how often do you install ESPs

We are implementing absence management project. User will have an ODBC connection to SQL in Microsoft Access and  link to the TAEEMASTER table from SQL. However, the table is NULL, when I open the table directly from SQL server, it is NULL.  But, if I query this table using Microsoft Add-In, data was imported to Excel. I don't know how it was stored in SQL, and how to pull out the data if we use the ODBC connection to this TAEEMASTER table
