Congrats on posting!

Can someone maybe point me into a direction explaining what AGS calls are and what they do, etc. Trying to further my knowledge and terms just a little more since starting with a new company.

Thanks

Hi Ronnie,

An AGS call is a Transaction Service Call that allows clients to perform application transactions in the Lawson system via the web. Basically, an AGS call is a way to do an update to the system the same way the web interface does it. Typically an AGS call is performed against an existing Lawson form.

A DME call is a Data Service Call that allows users to perform read-only queries on the Lawson system via the web server. A DME call can be performed against a Lawson Form or table.

I think there is a document (I know there used to be) named something like "IOS Application Program Interfaces" which goes into detail on AGS, DME, and other similar calls.

Good Luck!

I just checked the InforXtreme site. In the Documentation section, browse to Lawson>>Technology>>System Foundation>>Lawson System Foundation>>{version 9.0.1 or 10} and look for document "Doc for Developers: IOS Application Program Interfaces". There are three versions - System i, Windows, and Unix.

Note that "Doc for Developers: 4GL Application Program Interfaces" is COMPLETELY different... You want the IOS version.
