We are trying to send emails from Unix --- sendmail, mail, mailx or mutt -- but we'd like them to be conditionally controlled.

If the email reflects an error, we'd like to have the subject show up in a different color in our Novel Groupwise email boxes.

    Anyone done this?  How?

The emails also have to support adding attachments

    Thanks for any help,
    -Greg

*Note:  We are already sending emails that differentiate between errors, and normal information, we'd just like to have the errors show up in a different color so that they can be easily spotted.

      Greg,

We're on Windows instead of Unix, but we too use Groupwise for our mail client.

We send notifications like this, but do not accomplish it from within Lawson-proper. We simply identify the activities to be monitored and have external scripting built up to do it using a series of dos batch & vbs script processes (presently being converted to PowerShell). We monitor things like the job queue, all of our ftp processes, file transfers, etc. For example - If there are failed or waiting job(s) in the jobqueue, the queue that it is in is evaluated and the appropriate group of people are notified of the pending or failed job(s) accordingly.

We've not gotten fancy enough to color code the subject lines of these messages, but this simple approach seems to work for us.
