We're upgrading from Unix to Windows... and I'm just looking for an laprint example, and explanation of what belongs where.

    Anyone?

KB 1208741 has some good info. Most of the options are dependent on the actual printer. You can use the ? flag to see what options are available for that printer (ex. Font).

I've had issues with laprint doing some weird formatting. You can still use Windows batch scripts or Perl scripts in prtdef if you need more functionality.

        This is what I have:

          laprint -olandscape \\servername\printer_name

The printer has to be defined on your S3 server.

We also have to send output to a folder for MHC which we use for printing checks. Below is a bat file that I created.

        cat > D:\lawprod\temp\prtfile.%pid%
        move D:\lawprod\temp\prtfile.%pid% D:\data\acctpay\apcheck
        del D:\lawprod\temp\prtfile.%pid%
        exit

I exectue the above code by defining it in prtdef.

        /lawprod/gen/bin/mhcprint.bat

Our Pick Ticket jobs that autoprint need the font size changed a bit... I think down to 8 point would be good.
          Do I just do
           laprint -olandscape -z8 \\servername\printer_name
          then?
