We are currently running Lawson on HP Integrity blade servers running Unix (HP-UX 11i v2). I am not at all a Lawson guru but do know we are on Lawson LSF9 Financials, HR and Asset Management (Technology = 9.0.1.5.420, Application = 9.0.0.4). I am looking into the possiblity of upgrading to a VM version of HP-UX 11i v3 (Virtual Server Operating Environment). In that environment all applications, including Lawson, would have to be ran on a Virtual Machine since applications cannot run on the Virtual Host. Has anyone moved this version of Lawson from a Physical Machine to a Virtual Machine? Technically Lawson would still be on the same PM it was installed on, but would be running in a VM environment. I am finding nothing on this subject so far but firmly believe others are or will be facing the same questions if they upgrade their flavor of HP-UX to VSE-OE.

There was a group at CUE that moved to Virtual. They paved the way, proved it worked and then Lawson chagned the support policy to certify Virtual. The document about the annoucement on the support site is more fluff than what you are looking for but there might be a CUE presentation on the subject as it was talked about during one of the general sessions.

        Mark,

The group did move their current environment from physical to virtual, correct? I just want to ensure I'm reading this clearly.

I know Lawson approved VM, but haven't found those who actually migrated their environment from PM to VM.

Yes, they moved from Physical to Virtual. I was trying to find notes on who it was that did it.

            Thanks Mark.

I've been search as well but haven't found anything yet.

I appreciate your help and input.

Works fine on VM, i do notice a slight decrease in performance however.

                Jimmy,

Did you move the environment from PM to VM, or just install on VM?
