We just did a skip upgrade from 7.2 to 9.0.0.4 on our Iseries. The users are saying that jobs are running much longer. I have done the various steps for tuning that Lawson recommends but the users still are experiencing delays. Small jobs that used to take 2 minutes now take 8 minutes. Does anyone have any ideas on what to try?
We've had similar issues (non i-series) with our current production; we resolve this as best that we can by using ~.cfg files on the new LSF 9.0.0.4; however, the only ones that we deal with are those that the users complain about.
What's your server spec for your application server and database server? Especially physical memory available to the servers. A few things you can adjust that may help: - check your log files in "lawdir\system", are they ridiculously big? if so, rename and create new log file. - LADB.CFG, what's your "IDLETIME" set to? - check your WORK directory, does it need clean up? - LACONFIG, what's your "Windows Non-interactive Desktop Heap Size"?
I had the same issue when we did the same upgrade. The problem for me was that the new 525 that we ordered didn't come with disk catching for the drives. Performance went way down. Once we ordered and install the 5727 Integrated cache feature all went well.
