I am running V 9.0.0.637 of Lawson Security Admin tool on my laptop and it allows me to make security and RM changes, but crashes when I exit the RM or Security screens. The module in violation is vsflex8l.ocx. The admin program works fine on other systems and the Lawson server, but not where I need it most! I've reregistered the ocx, checked permissions, verified versions against the systems that work and uninstalled / reinstalled to no avail. Lawson support's only suggestion is to reimage my system, which would take a month or more to complete - not an option. Has anyone ever seen this issue?

I've run into this as well, but have just been ignoring it as it does no damage, and is just an annoyance.
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

I have seen errors on this ocx file before. vsflex8l.ocx is is a third party module, which was not written by Lawson and which is used by various applications. Very likely you have more than one copy of this module on your PC, and different versions. In particular, check C:\Program Files\Lawson Software\Common\Shared and C:\WINNT\system32 or C:\Windows\system32. My guess is that you will find a verson of this in Common\Shared and a different one in system32. Probably the one in the Shared directory is the good one -- copy that one to system32 and any other location where you find this ocx file, so that all directories with a copy of vsflex8l.ocx have the same exact version. This will probably fix your issue.
