When adding a new user to a user group.

    I type USERGRPDEF

I then enter the user group I want to add the new user to.

at the beginning of the list I hit F8 to insert a blank slot

and then I hit F4 to get the list of users to choose from.

Does anyone know where this list populates from?  I checked the users in LAUA but the lists are different.

In LSF 9, they have to be in Lawson security with an environment ID to be set-up in User Group Def or LAUA.

we have a user that was set up with the wrong environment ID in LSA. It has since been changed in LSA but the wrong environment ID is still showing up where you set up the User Group Def and the correct one still does not show up although if I look at the users in LAUA it shows up correctly.

Go to DELUSERS and delete the incorrect environment ID

Thank you very much, there were a number of them that I needed to delete.

so the incorrect user ID was dkronnhol which was not listed in the LAUA users, but the correct one is dkronhol which is listed in the LAUA users but not listed where you add them to User Group def. It is correct in Lawson Security Administrator. How do I get it populated under the User Group Def section?

I would delete the environment ID in LSA; check DELUSERS and make sure they are both gone. Check LAUA and make sure they are both gone - then add it back in LSA

Has this id got a OS account? That's maybe where your disconnect is coming from?

If this is Windows, also check the "LawLocal" group.

Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

This is on UNIX. the id does have an OS account. I will try deleting everything and re-adding.

I removed the identity and saw that neither id was in delusers or LAUA.

I then added the identity back, it shows up in LAUA now but still does not show up in delusers.

Do you mean UserGrpDef? Did you add the ID back to the group?

Yes, it does not show up in the list when I go into usergrpdef or when I go into delusers.

I can not add the user to the group as it does not show up in the list.

The list gets populated from one of the USER tables in GEN, but without doing a LOT of digging I can't tell you specifically which one. I'd start by looking at each of these tables.

When you added the environment identity, did you also go to the environment set-up (3rd option on a user in LSA) and select a product line?

Thank you. It was the environment set-up added the productline and he showed up

                                  thanks all
