Just one week to CUE and I am wondering how different users have setup LBI security through the use of report security groups, custom groups, groups defined in LS9 security or through just simple user ids. I see some versions LBI will be decommissioned - what exactly is LBI I know we use lawosn add-ins and Process flow but for reporting we have cognos, reportsafe.

Here's a a technique for creating effective date reports from Lawson data. In particular, this is useful for reporting from HR history data, where you want a report to reflect the value of a piece of data at a given point in time, not its current value. Looking for a way to provide a link to print a crystal report instance without having to open it. I have not been able to find a way so thought I would ask this group.  Would need to be a client side print. I think I'm out of luck but thought I would check here first.

Hi, We have a company standard enterprise job scheduler.  This product has the ability to run scripts, call URLs, call command-line commands, etc.    We would like to use this enterprise scheduler to schedule, run, and distribute LBI Crystal Reports to users. 1.  Is it possible to schedule, run, and distribute reports that are published in LBI with non-Lawson scheduling tool 2.  How would this be accomplished  Would we call something like the following URL to execute the report ...

Our HR department wants a Crystal report published to LBI that covers 24 months worth of data and runs about 15,000 pages.  Our consultant says we can't--or maybe it's that we shouldn't--send a report that large to LBI. We had an issue on LBI 9.0.4. where the permissions or user ids set on a dashboard were cascading down to modules and links. In 9.0.4.1. lawson has changed this where they have given a user the option not to accept the cascadeing down of user access from dashboards, modules, links etc. They have done this by adding a line to modify the sysconfig file on framewrok services and adding 'PERMISSION_INHERITANCE' as false. In publishing a custom report that has a command (sql) and parameters, in LBI, the parameter screen displays, and after choosing parameters it goes to a screen to put in default user id and default password, (which has been populated in the setup), and when you enter it again it goes back to the parameter screen, it's looping.  It's as if the custom crystal and the command(sql) are treated separate, but never mesh back together.  Any one have any ideas of how to handle this  Or can LBI truly ha...

Usually publishing back office reports allows users to download only in pdf.   Has anybody found a way to download backoffice reports in excel format We have a number of RW100 backoffice reports that are published that can be downloaded in pdf format.I am investigating ways of downloading in excel. Hey all, We are trying to setup a filter for one of our reports and we can't seem to get it to work.  We have data at different levels (Company, Territory, Region, State, Area, Zone).  We're trying to set it up so people have the ability to see what's in their area and everything under it (i.e., Zone users only see Zone data, State users see State, Area, and Zone, etc.).  Has anyone done something like this before and can provide us with help or tips on how to do it   Thanks, Matt

Has anyone been sucessful at exporting more than 65k rows of data from Crystal 2008 to an Excel 2007 format  The work around is to save as .csv and then open the file in Excel 2007.  I'm curious if anyone has found Crystal 2008.dll updates which export large record sets directly into Excel 2007

When using Crystal 2008 ODBC reports and RAS 2008 some large excel attachments never make it to the user inbox in e-mail.  The Websphere logs show 'e-mail sent'.  The same report with a .PDF format will arrive in the end user's mail system inbox.  Has anyone experienced this LBI issue before

We here in HR have over 100 canned reports that are being ran throughout the month (Weekly, Bi-Weekly, 1st of the Month, 5th of the Month, etc.). Previously, these reports were generated in Crystal(20) and Access(80). We'd like to move them to the Dashboard, but I'm very confused on the contraints an end user (ie. Leadership) would have. We'd like to enable Leadership to run the Crystal Reports directly from the Dashboard and have the option to export to whatever file format they wish. ...

Is there some way to script the import of rights I can create a file with what I need to import, but don't want to go through the wizard on a daily basis.
