Has anyone got Crystal 2008 and the Lawson OLEDB to work together

We have a Crystal Report with Drill-Arounds built in along with a few Smart Notifications on a manager level dashboard.  However, most of the managers that access the dashboard do not have a user ID with true access to Lawson applications (they are self-service IDs for ESS).  Our management is concerned with licensing issues and costs, and do not want to build individual application/authentication users, and instead want to use a generic user that has already been set-up. Is there a way to get by systemcode , the ids attached, their security class and the actions for every form in Lawson under the system code as a report. Has anyone been able to write or get a custom report and are willing to share

When installing WAS 7 from scratch for LBI install, is there a need to install a separate JDK, or is the one that comes with WAS7 enough  I can't seem to find out.

I have a crystal report i loaded on my dashboard in LBI.  I'm trying to test it before moving into production and think i may have missed something.  I want my user to be able to see the report and drill around on it.  Is there something that needs to be done to allow for this function

Does a magic bullet exist for figuring out the fields that join tables together in Lawson  I am familiar with the ERDs available on this site, dbdoc, and derfldrpt, but what about the actual fields that need to be related together to retrieve unique results I assume the answer is just to figure it out yourself or learn how to read the output from dbdoc better, but I wanted to make sure we weren't missing something obvious.

Trying to get started with Bursting of an RW100. Carefully set up Elements, Structure, and Rights; but get above error. I have a Lawson LBI portal that users run crystal reports in. The only thing on that server is the LBI. intermittently the users will run a report and then the LBI doesnt work. check the server we have a VISUAL C RUNTIME ERROR VISUAL DEBUG STUDIO.  We then have to reboot the server. any ideas what would be causing this, or a fix

We run CR2008 in the LBI. I have a report which is time consuming, when the user gets impatient and shuts the report down via the parameters page X in upper right hand corner or they ctrl alt del to terminate the program. our reports run from an ISERIES ACCESS ODBC DRIVER to and AS400 SYSTEM. when the report is terminated the process on the server keeps running. something isnt terminating between the ODBC and the AS400. Using Crystal 2008 and have a report with a subreport. When I open it up in Crystal, looks fine. I publish the report to LBI (9.0.4.0.192) and enter the parameters, then I get an error message back 'Failed to retrieve data from the database'. I tried deleting the subreport and publishing that to LBI and it works fine. Hi all, I have a crystal report with two commands and it returns the correct data. Now I need to add one more filed to the report to show the displayed employee is a manager or not. Employee number is there in Employee table and Supervisor table. If the emoployee number is there in Supervisor.employee filed then it has to display as Yes(Manager) or No for the employee.employee in the report. Could you please help me on this

I know a while back, the LBI install doc used to say VM instances supported for development only.  Does anyone here know if that has changed since I cannot find any reference to yes or no for VM support in production. Thanks in advance, -Greg

I have create a Activity Summary report in Crystal which goes against a large amount of data. I am trying to use dynamic cascading parameters in LBI but I am not getting all the data values for the firs parameter (Company). In Crystal reports, all the data values are displayed; however when the report is published in LBI Reporting Services, not all of the values for the first parameter are being displayed. We have a report that returns 350K rows. The report is published as both a burst and non-burst report. How do you calculate a time when the value is stored as a number  For example, I want to calculate the time difference between WHSHLDTL.UPDATE_TIME and WHSHIPLINE.UPDATE_TIME.  Both fields are stored as a number.  Thanks in advance!

I am looking to replace an Access Database solution with LBI to provide departmental reports for Finance. I can easily replicate the income statement style reports being pulled from the database. I was wondering if anyone has a good way to add vaiance analysis back from Managers. For instance if I am 20 over budget in salaries, I want managers to respond as to why.  How are others doing this process Thanks for you assistance

I'm writing a Crystal ODBC report that represents data available on GL90 (ex Co, AU, Acct, FY, Period, beg bal, posted, and ending balance).  The report also shows JE detail.  Has anyone had sucess writing a Crystal report with both GLAMOUNTS and GLTRANS  Let me know if I can pick your brain. We have reports that are being bursted with only header information.  When you open the report there is a zero record count.  How do we keep them from bursting Note:  The report data source is an Oracle Stored Procedure that runs for an Acct-Unit Range.  The rport is then bursted by Acct-Unit.  But I also include one extra record in the file that has a statistic that is used in the calculations.  But the users do not have access to that record in the bursting rights. I just added a tab to our dashboard. I then set up specific users in the set access utility.  I can see the users in set access but the user who was going to test the dashboard, contents and reports cannot see the tab. I am sure I overlooked something simple.

We have reporting services on the framework.  We want to be able to publish other database(not Lawson) crystal reports through LBI.  Do I need to create another reporting sevices on the framework  Or I can use the same one but how to separate these 2 database reports
