I'm fairly new to LBI and what I would like to do is set up a drop down of pre defined date parameter formulas such as Year to Date, Last Month, Previous 6 Months, as well as Date Ranges instead of the user having to select the start and end dates.  I know it can be done within crystal, but can it be done through LBI  If so, how would this be accomplished  I've tried just hard coding 1/1/2010 as a date in a drop down list but haven't been able to get it to show up when the date parameter is ...

My friends: I am trying to get XI R3 (AKA 2008) on to our test server. I have no problem applying both along side XI R2 SPx. My question comes in when I have downloaded XI R3 SP3 cumulative from Lawson, it says 'Another version of this program is already installed, this installation cannot continue...' I'm currently using LBI in the test environment and have come across a problem.  I have an 'x' in all the icons which would show me: Print, Export, Next Page, Prev Page, etc... I was told by my IT department that it's a compatibility with IE8 but was at my user group this week and was told there is a fix and should be compatible.  I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and if so, what can i do    Thanks, Frank

This might be a little off topic, but let's see what you all think. We've got a data collection website that really has nothing to do with Lawson. Since we already have staff with SQL, Crystal Reports and LBI skills, I'd like to figure out how to leverage them and LBI or just the RAS service to provide reports to users of the non-lawson system without them having to log in to LBI. They don't have user names for LBI and the business owners of this other system are not very keen on making users...

We have two LBI instances(9.0.2.2.127) on seperate servers using WebSphere (6.1.0.17).  We have two seperate databases too.  We have DSSO set up too.  I want to keep these two in sync.  How does one do that I have tried copying the sql tables and the data folders, but run into DSSO errors on the test instance of LBI.

Our Lawson (9.0.x) environment creates a 1.3 version of Adobe 4.x PDF. Is there anyway to upgrade that pdf generater to something that will generate a newer version Thanks in advanced.

Does anyone know a way to display the user's Lawson acount name in reports run from an LBI server This can be handy in a report heading when you're trying to determine the origins of a printed page at a later date. There a CR function called CurrentCEUserName, but it only works with Crystal Enterprise, which our provider doesn't have. I was hoping someone else may have developed a workaround for this. We have several CXI reports that use Excel as a datasource (From a network share) and I have been approached to see if there is a way for me to get them into LBI. I have been attempting to get it to work, to no avail. I'm using MS Analytic Services. I have YTD member names in GLDM.5 (and Qtr YTD in GLDM.6) but those elements are not available in my cube - neither in Analysis Manager nor in Scorecard. I get my current period and current qtr elements, but nothing for YTD. GSC hasn't been any help to this point. We've analyzed IA150 and these vales appear to be handled by some java scripting (which is way out of my league) but we're not seeing any issues there. We are trying to create a datasource in LBI that will connect to a non-Lawson database that is on a server outside our network. We have been able to create a NAT'd IP for the server and connect to it with Crystal, but we get errors or a login prompt when we try to do it in LBI unless we change the Data Source to the Nat'd IP before it is published. We are trying to create a Crystal report that will inlcude the IC (Inventory Control) details for transactions posted to ACTRANS. It does not appear that there is any link (object ID, etc) from ACTRANS to ICTRANS so we have been trying to link to MMDIST. The trouble is the the indexes on MMDIST do not inlcude AC items and the other indexes have items that are not inlcuded in the ACTRANS table. My organization wants to use Lawson Report Writer reports as the data source for Crystal Reports - which I have read about doing here and in the Lawson Knowledge Base. However we don't have Lawson LBI and they no longer sell the OLE DB connector as a separate item. If I go into Crystal Reports I see that I can add an OLE DB connector for Lawson but it does not give me any way to specify the Report Writer reports as a data source - only tables and such. Does anyone managed to publish any PATCOM relatedd report to LBI We would love to hear from you. PATCOM has its own propriety database and no ODBC driver for it. I wonder whether anyone come up with any creative way to publish PATCOM related report to LBI.

Has anybody seen issues with the database override function with Oracle 11g and LBI 9.0.4. We have a number of odbc reports that were published and now with the oracle 11g upgrade from Oracle 10gR2 they have stpeed refreshing. Basically the database override function is not working when the reports point to the new DSN on the reporting services page and we are seeing this only on our upgrade to 11gR2. Has anybody experienced this

Is there a way to create a role in reporting services that has access to all departments but excludes 2 departments. All users can access all reports for all departments except for those 2 that have been restricted.

hello All, I have two crystal reports published in LBI. One is summary level report another is detail level report. Client is asking for link from summary level report to detail level report. I made attempts to use options 'Report part drill down' and 'Another report object' in Hyperlinks tab of formt editor in crystal reports 2008 and not succeeded. Any help would be appreciated.
