    LBI ver. 10.2.0.0.126

We just went live with this, and the only Smart Note that is supposed to deliver, failed to go to everyone!

Here's what I have: 1 InfoSet, approx 12,000 rows of data. To be burst on the supervisors' email address (in the dataset).

Some received, some did not (there should have been 244 notifications sent).

Is there a setting somewhere that limits this?

Any thoughts way it would not go to everyone?

I've already ruled out bad email addresses.

    Thanks in advance!
    -Robby.

I am not aware of a limit. I have sent smart notes bursted to over 8000 employees so I know it can manage the volume.

Can you see the email delivery in the delivery history? If you can see it in history then it might be an issue with your email server or junk mail. We have had issues with our email server not allowing the send of emails.

If you see it in history you can do the re-deliver and see if you can track it.

        Thanks Dave,
When you say "delivery history" are you talking about "Activity", "Activity Report"?

Under Smart Notes -> Admin -> Delivered Alert History

You can search by the date or notification ID and see a history of notifications delivered. You can also re-deliver any specific alert.

I use it occasionally to re-deliver a specific alert to someone who deleted the original.

            Dave,
            Thanks!
I hate to admit it, but I did not know that was there!

So, if I have a burst alert, and one person says they did not get it, I can click "Redeliver" and that one person will get their s sent again??

            Very cool!

            Thanks!

Exactly - I use it occasionally when someone tells me they did not get the email or they deleted it. I just find it in the list and click redeliver and they get the exact email that was originally sent.

You can search by date, by notification or even by a specific email address.

              Comes in handy.

                Update to this,
Here's what happened - The Exchange Server has a control applied to limit the number of emails that a connected application is allowed to send. This is to prevent 'mail-bombs', etc.

So, I now need to either come-up with another solution or bribe the Exchange Server folks to change the setting for the Smart Note application!

                Any ideas will be welcomed!

(PS, I tested the output and found that the one Smart Note will burst the output to approx. 933 separate emails. That many emails hitting the mail server all at once is a 'no-no')

You could always add a range (like from emp# to emp#) and split the SN into seperately scheduled ones so as to not overload the email server.

Thanks Dave, That will be one of the options considered,

We had a similar issue and we worked with our email server team to allow Lawson to go above the limit set. We have Groupwise so it wasn't and exchange server but I would think they could open the limit up for the specific email account being used by your lawson server.

Otherwise - Dave's idea sounds like a good way to split it up.

Thanks Dave (Curtis) (too many Dave's? :-) )

Definitely an option. Can't see why they couldn't do that for me.
