Templates and Smart Notes

    I have a smart note. I also have a template I created to pull the data from the smart note into the template, so when it's emailed to the user, they get a nice customized letter with all their data. This worked just fine yesterday. I made a couple changes to the template and BAM. Now the template is not picking up any of the data from the Smart Note!

    Steps I've taken to diagnose are:
    I've done a preview of my SQL and it's picking up all required data. I also viewed the Notification "Sample" and it also looks good. I've previewed my template and that just puts empty spaces where the data would typically go, but that's how it looked when it was working correctly. I've also made sure that my template is connected to the Notification (

    I've updated my notification, then I go to "alerts" and hit "Process". This worked just fine up until I changed a couple fields in the letter (Do I remember what those were? Nope). Now the email only displays the template with no data in it when the email is delivered! I don't get it! I will shut down my PC and restart as a last ditch effort.

    Any thoughts? This is my first Smart Notification and it's incredibly frustrating. All expertise is welcome! :(

      First off, do you have access to the websphere log files? If so, are there any error messages at the time the smartnotifications are sent? I might expect to see a NullPointerException if this is a data issue. I have seen one of two times that this happens:
      1. You have blank emails in your email address field where youve assigned email category to the field in the Infoset editor
      2. You dont have a registered device for the user that owns the notification, though since this was working previously i doubt this is it

      Next question, how are you displaying your data in the notifications? are you using [Values] token or have you explicitly piulling data using [cell...] tokens?

        My solution was to re-create the smart notification. Thanks!
