I am new to Design Studio.  Essentially I would like to copy the Lawson delivered CU201 form so I can modify the form.  So essentially I would end up with 2 CU201 forms .... The Lawson delivered and mine.  Both being accessible via the portal (of course under different names)...  Was wondering if this is possible and how I can go about doing this ...

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Chris

Yes, you can have as many variations as you need. There is a flag on the Design Studio screen properties. You set that to indicate if the custom screen is the default presentation. If none of the custom screens have this set, Lawson delivered screen will default. All others can be viewed via book marks.

Lawson support site article, KB 1202321 : Examples of shortcuts, bookmarks, and attachment URLs that can be created within the Lawson Portal

        Thank you for the feedback.
Do you know where that form is ... When I bring up the CU201 and modifiy it (just inserting default values), I then go to FILE--> SAVE AS

When I enter a new name (for example) CU201_CUSTOM it displays FORM ID is not unique for token: CU201_CUSTOM OK to continue?

I am not sure what this means or if this will cause my original CU201 to be wiped out ...

        Please help

That 'Form ID is not unique' is a soft error - it comes up no matter what name you give your form. You should always change it from the CUSTOM default name in case you want to create multipe versions of your form. Next, give your form a new Bookmark reference within Bookmark Manager and then your users can transfer to the new form id you assigned to it.

            David,

Thanks so much ... so if I do this I should not lose the original CU201 (lawson delivered), is that correct ..... Again thank you.

BTW, understand that Design Studio is really used for tailoring the UI of a form, not (necessarily) for changing the business logic, and is therefore mostly suited for on-line forms rather than batch programs. When you are talking about a batch program such as CU201, the only thing you can change in the UI is the parameters page (e.g. to set a default parameter); you are not modifying the actual program logic--to do that you would have to "clone" the program and make the changes in the COBOL code.

One last question ... (I hope). I was able to make the changes to the CU201 screen .... All I did was default the values for testing purposes. I created a bookmark under "My Shortcuts" and the screen came up. However I can not add or run a job under the new screen .... Do I need to do something before I can get this to work in the same manner as the original CU201?

It should work the same, just with your default settings. You did Add the job first?
