Like a few others out there we have to upgrade Websphere in a hurry in order to get the new Req Center installed.
Does anyone have the process documented or even know where we can find this document. Even the IBM website is unclear.  We are going from 6.1 to 7.0

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, but with our verion 9.0.1, it required websphere 7.0. Thanks.

We're also on LSF 9.0.1 SP5 w/WebSphere 6.1. Here's a response I received from the RQC Swat team regarding whether or not RQC will run in our current environment:

RQC is compatible with any version of LSF 900 and LSF 901. So, yes, it will work in your current environment.

The blanket statement is: if RSS is running, then RQC will run with no issues. There are no additional ESPs or MSPs necessary.

Could someone clarify - I thought websphere 7.0 was required for lsf9.0.1?

When we upgraded to 9.0.1.6 last year, WebSphere 7 was a requirement. We upgraded from 9.0.1.3, at which time WebSphere 6 was still ok. I don't know at which specific ESP release made WebSphere 7 a requirement.

                    The specific ESP was 9.0.1.4.

In this ESP, Lawson shipped an updated ehcache.jar, which broke compatability with WAS 6.1

Thanks - very helpful. We might need to review that a bit. Anyone know if we can still install 9.0.1.3 or 4?

You may be able to install it, but Lawson will only support up to 2 levels back. Plus, I believe that you need to be at least MSP5 for year-end. You may want to re-think where you're headed. You know that eventually you're going to have to do the work anyway.

We did end up moving our TEST environment to LSF 9.0.1.5 (from 9.0.0.8)... Now we are ready to do our APPS for the year-end. (Saves us extended maintenance fees.) Next year we are going to move to LSF 9.0.1.8, Websphere 7, Windows 2K8, SQL, etc.

Could you please let me know if you successfully installed RCQ on Websphere 6.1 yet? We are also on 9.01, MSP5 and have been told that we need to upgrade to Websphere version 7.   Thanks

                              RQC runs on WebSphere 6.1

Who is telling you that you need to upgrade to WebSphere 7 ??

It really depends on your LSF release.
If you are on LSF 9.0.1.5 or lower, you can install on WAS 6.1.
If you are on LSF 9.0.1.6 or higher, you must install on WAS 7.

RQC works on both combinations, just like RSS.

                                John H is correct.
Please review my post above for exact details as to *why and when* WAS 7.0 is needed versus WAS 6.1
