I have installed and configured for a few clients. Are you looking for anything specific?
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

I'm wondering if there are network security issues. How do you get connected to the Lawson server, an internal server, from your personal mobile device?

I should also clarify that I mean Mobile Inbasket.

That's why we have not implemented yet. Our portal is only available on our network. Our users would be able to connect while on-site to our wireless network, but if you're on-site, you probably have your laptop. It makes more sense for companies that have their portal open to the outside world.

We are setting up a pilot for the mobile inbasket.  We have an internal BYOD wireless network that i have open just the link to that specific url for MIB via our web security team. I see real value for the health care industry where you are serving patients on site and my not return to your specific work station for extended periods of time.  As for External access, we are thinking of setting up a DMZ redirector to only that same MIB site which will require a lawson login similar to the ESS open enrollment we have opened up.

We have implemented Mobile Inbasket and share some of the concerns above. Many users utilize personal devices and currently can't take advantage of the solution. Why it has been successful is that most users utilize the hospital provided phone (Blackberry). We have our own server and because of its security it can tunnel into our intranet. This allows users access to Lawson via their phone while offsite. We are also currently looking at other solutions like Iron Mobile (Being tested by our telecom group).

Our first roadblock. We get the message "Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found". Do all the devices have to be configured to access the internal network and not just the guest network? Also, what if the users are off-campus and cannot access the internal network?

Guest networks typically are fire walled from the internal network so utilizing them will not work unless you use it in conjunction with VPN or other software which allows tunneling into your intranet. The same goes for when off campus. We currently don't allow access into the intranet from any mobile device (personnel) without VPN. The reason most users can utilize the solution is because of the BES server (Blackberry). It can be configured by device to allow access to the intranet.

How is this project going?  We are about to try the same thing, but the Iron Mobile project has just started.  We are hoping it will allow us to use Iron Mobile to make Site Minder play nice with the Mobile Employee App.

                        Hello,

We (Dignity Health) have piloted Mobile Inbasket and about to roll it out to the masses.  My question is that we have a few users that get this error message when accessing MIB external to the network.  I opened up a case with Lawson but so far no luck in trying to get to the root cause.

                        "Error calling /mib/servlet/Engine"

ERROR:send@[nativecode]SSORequest@httpsour mib link)/javascript/sso.js:266httpRequest@https://(our mib link)/javascript/mobile.js:239mobileLogin@https://(our mib link)/javascript/login.js:80onsubmit@https: etc etc etc.

Lawson seems to think it's 3G netowrk related but it doesn't make sense.  We have one person who consistently gets this error whether on his iphone or trying someone elses iphone.

There doesn't seem to be may MIB experts out there so any help is appreciated.

Just wondering if anyone has made any headway on this? I have been tasked with investigating this for our hospital's use.
We only allow Lawson access from internally at the moment. But, if JUST this portion could be opened up, it would be nice.
Lawson support wasn't much help. They kept trying to push me to contact our account manager to have something setup for them to install it for us. I just wanted details on what's possible as far has having just this portion sitting outside the DMZ..

We are very close to rolling MIB out to a pilot group of managers. Probably next week.

Hi Jon - We have been asked by management to start reviewing what would be necessary for this as well. I will be eager to learn how things went with your initial piloting efforts. //Kevin

The pilot went well. One of our CFOs is having trouble accessing the firewall portal on his Droid but the other 19 people had no issues (those that had reqs to approve anyway). I have yet to get with the CFO to troubleshoot his device. We will be pushing it out to all approvers today.

The way we set it up is to have users log in to the virtual network that gets them through the firewall and then they have to log in again for Lawson and the Inbasket.

Has anyone been able to secure "Receiving" on Mobile Req?

We are trying to secure 'Receiving' in Mobile Requisitions. (we don't want requesters to be able to receive - conflict of interest).

We have restricted access to PO30 on this role. A few months ago when testing this appeared to work. We have since did an esp upgrade and it doesn't appear to be secured anymore.

I not only secured PO30 - I had IT remove the bookmark.

                                      We remove bookmark for Portal.

Did you remove Bookmark from the Mobile Req App?
Lawson has indicated that we can't remove it from the App.
