TA30

TA30.1 - Accrual Amount Formula

Use TA30.1 (Accrual Amount Formula) to define calculations that determine
accrued hours based on flat hours or calculation formulas. Both types
calculate accrued hours according to the number of hours an employee works in
each accrual cycle. Both types use one or more pay classes to determine the
number of hours worked by an employee.

The first type gives employees a flat amount of hours for a range of hours
worked.

For example, in a plan that accrues weekly, employees who work up to 40 hours
earn .75 hours. Employees who work more than 40 hours during the week earn .80
hours for that week. To set this up, type the following values in the From,
To, and Accrual fields.

                   Flat Hours Calculation
FC Line From To Accrual -or- Pay Class Hours Factor
            1 40 .75
           40 99999 .80

The second type accrues hours based on calculations that use a ratio of the
hours worked in a pay class to the number of hours in an accrual cycle
multiplied by the defined factor.

For example, in a plan that accrues weekly, employees who work up to 40 hours
earn a factor of .75 multiplied by the ratio of hours they worked. Employees
who work more than 40 hours during the week, earn .80 multiplied by the ratio
of hours they work. To set up this calculation, you would type the following
values in the From, To, Pay Class, Hours and Factor fields.

                   Flat Hours Calculation
FC Line From To Accrual -or- Pay Class Hours Factor
            1 40 REG 40 .7500
           40 99999 REG 40 .8000

An employee who worked 40 hours in the pay class would earn (40/40) * .75 =
.75 hour. An employee who worked 50 hours would earn (50/40) * .80 = 1 hour.

In both types, if you select more than one pay class, the system adds the
results to determine the accrual hours for the employee.

You can define up to 24 formulas for each calculation.

TA30.2 - Accrual Ratio Formula

Use TA30.2 (Accrual Ratio Formula) to define calculations that accrue time by
multiplying an amount per hour by the hours worked in a pay class. If you
select several pay classes, the system totals each calculation to determine
accrual hours for an employee.

For a detailed explanation of accrual formulas, see the System Logic section
in the Time Accrual Procedures Manual.
