Cumulative Patches - Best Practice

Started By  Deleted User
I am working on writing a proposal to submit to our internal Lawson Steering Committee to develop a standard practice of applying the many patches and updates released by Lawson on a set schedule.  Currently we apply them only if they are identified as 'needed' by one of the business owners of the different Lawson modules or we apply them when we encounter issues and the patch will solve the issue.   What I am proposing is that we keep current by applying quarterly cumulative patches.   I wo...

DR Testing

Started By  Lee
We are in the infant stages of testing our DR strategy; we already have an off-site mirror (lpar'd AIX) that we run our DEV and TEST on and we replicate our local live data to the remote site. Then comes the 'looks pretty - but does it work' issue - which requires live testing. Has anyone completed this phase of testing and if so, can you share some lessons learned Thanks!

mylawson.com login

Started By  Anne
I just got a new laptop with Windows 7 and IE 8 on it. When I go to the lawson support site, I type in my user id and password but I can't log in. The screen refreshes, no error message, status bar displays 'Done'. I'm not having trouble with an other web sites. I checked the login is good on my old computer and also using Chrome on the new one. I have disabled popup blocker, reduced security level, made Lawson a trusted site, nothing is working.

Oracle 12g does not support HP Itanium Servers

Started By  Randy Finch
I have recently read that Oracle has made the decision to not support the HP Itanium chip on Oracle 12g. We have three HP Superdome Itanium servers that run Lawson with full disaster recovery failover to a remote site. This has been a more than significant investment. How many other Lawson users are running on Itanium servers What are the best options to be considering This will also affect our clinical software which would have an even greater impact on the organization than Lawson...

Knowledge Base still down

Started By  Roger French
Griping. The KnowledgeBase on mylawson.com is still not available as of today Monday June 6 after being down for the past 5 days. I called Lawson and the guy said it will be down until mid week at the earliest. I guess it's down so they can remove all of the references to RSS Another black eye. I use the KB for searching patches, articles, etc. And now it's still down. This is a major software company with thousands of customers. Roger

ISeries 9.0 to 9.1 Apps and LSF

Started By  TRACY
We just became aware according to the 'Lawson Product Life Cycle Maintenance Policy' that ISeries 9.0 Apps and LSF is going on extended maintenance Nov 11. Never received a Decomission Notice nor is it posted. Guess modules now are only decommissioned, but not apps and environment. Anyway, thoughts on upgrading from 9.0 to 9.1 with Infor10 up in the air etc., don't want to invest a bunch if have to move again soon. ISeries 9.0 just became GA in 2008, same time as 9.1 became GA. Lawson with no support

Started By  Terry P
With the ever increasing cost of Lawson (and other reasons), our Districts are considering moving away from Lawson to another product. We would like to convert at the end of a calendar year end (December 31st), but our support agreement is on a fiscal year basis (July). Lawson has indicated they would not provide support for a six month period. So I have a few questions: 1) Has anyone ran Lawson without Bronze or Silver support If so, what problems did you encounter 2) Are there any other ...

Print Queue Report Archival

Started By  David LaFrancis
I've seen this done in a Unix environment but does anyone have any suggestions for archiving reports that will be overwritten the next time the job is run - in a Windows environment It sure would be nice if Lawson had an option to keep output in an alternate location for all posting jobs at least. We only need this for Finance - - no payroll or HR Thanks!

How do old product names map to Infor products?

Started By  The Unguru
So I basically inherited an audit, Infor wants to audit all of our 'S3' stuff, but I'm NOT a Lawson guru and I can't figure out what all they want to audit. For example our POF has 'Vendor Self-Service' and 'Purchase Order' -- is that S3 How can I tell Is there a list somewhere of all the products that are S3 products There's not much helpful on infor's web site, they have no support and the content is all market droid junk. None of the supply chain stuff seems to match up.
