Payroll extracts to vendors
Started By
Karen Sheridan
We have several extracts mostly against deductions, example 403(b) deductions. We have been using check date on the pay master table to drive the record selection, but we are finding that doesn't pick up an manuals or voids that are also processed during that payroll run. There is a date stamp on those records that corresponds to the most recent PR140 run. So that might be an option. But, I thought I'd ask what other companies are doing. Basically, how to pull all deductions/activity...

Floating Holiday Allotment
Started By
Sandy K
Hi, We have a Floating Holiday plan that creates an allotment transaction for the employee effective the day the employee qualifies for the plan. After 90 days the hours move from allotment to available. We have some employees that do not receive the allotment. I have researched the employees to see if there are any common denomiators and I have found nothing. Has this happened to anyone else How did you rectify the issue Thank you in advance!

PR197
Started By
Sandy K
We ran a manual pay run which only included voids and reissues. We ran FM197, which is a custom screen of PR197 but without the update option. There is data on the report and every account does net to zero. I do not have anything on the PR197/PR198 in update mode. Is this correct I can't even see even the header in the Print Manager or in Vista. Is this correct or should the PR197/198 have the same data on as FM197 - report only. I would think that I would at least see the report in the p...

We have employees that move between companies and have issues with terminations in one company and hiring in the next company. Payroll User Group

We recently went live on Lawson HR/Payroll and it would be great if we could find a user group for payroll users so that our payroll staff could have someone to talk to - the Lawson payroll process is much more complicated than our previous HR/Payroll system and it's been a struggle to learn Lawson. Any help would be appreciated.

Third party support for Lawson

I would like to know if there are III party vendors that offer support to Lawson, particularly for year end W2 related changes and interface to BSI. We may have to delay moving to Apps 9.x and will be out of support during the year end of 2012. If anyone has prior experience with such vendors please share here. Thanks.

How to run BN100 for previous transactions
Started By
Sarah
I am researching why our retirement plans do not automatically end date when an employee terms. It appears that the employee group did not have status included in it so even when an employee (aka ee) termed it left their plan without an end date. We want ee's with a TP status to still have a blank end date so their last check can have a retirement deduction but a status of T would trigger an enddate when a TER action with a status of T is keyed on the pa52.1 screen. In test, I updated ...

Good Morning, I currently have a handful of employees that were not automatically put into the LP group they need to be in and that caused them to not have a plan assigned to them. Rate for LP liability and pay out
Started By
Bernie R
We have a group of employees moving to new positions with a much higher rate of pay. These employees will have their PTO balance frozen since these new positions are not eligible to accrue PTO. We want to use their prior rate of pay to calculate the PTO liability for the ledger and any PTO pay out upon termination of these employees. I have not found any fields in LP that would enable use to automate this process to any extent. Any ideas are appreciated.

PR141 and PR197 out of balance
Started By
MonikaS
Hello, On occassions our PR141 and PR197 are out of balance. It is always related to employer portion of deduction amounts such as Medicare, 403b, health, dental, etc. I can find the employees, the deuctions, and the amounts but cannot find the reason for this out of balance condition. Our Lawson IT resources cannot find why would this be and the database looks good. Is anyone else having this issue if yes, did you find the cause Thank you, Monika

Thanks in advance, We are having an issue with BSI and they sent me some instructions to create a log file. Unfortunately the instructions were for LID users and I am a Portal user. After the check has been successfully added, from the “Options” menu select “Display Log File” From the LID command line, what command do I need to 'go to PR80' Jason

Move to Advice to Pay for Short Term Disability
Started By
RBH
Hi - Our STD (Short-Term Disability) vendor pays all the STD claims for our 12,000 employee population. Due to issues with deducting correct benefit premiums, we have decided to move to Advice to Pay, thereby allowing us to 'cut the check' ourselves and deduct appropriate premiums. As we are just starting the conversations with our vendor, we wanted to see if there was another Lawson client that has moved to Advice to Pay for STD, and, if so, find out how/if interfaces were created to str...

payroll transactions to activities management (AC)
Started By
Margie Gyurisin
We are starting a process to track some employee commitments through Payroll and Activity Management. We would like to put the total commitment amount in Activities (35,000) and then run a payment through each pay tied to the activity code. Our goal is to be able to see a running tally in activities. However, in testing, we find the posted transactions to activities come thorugh as positive (expense accrual) and negative (cash accrual) transactions per pay so their is not a way to run a report s...

Retirement plan setup
Started By

With the two plans we find that when an Employee is enrolled in both plans (catchup and regular) and he/she makes a mid year change, the limits that are in place do not work. The max limits start over. However, we worked on a report to catch these EE's and update their PR14 deduction limit. We currently have an interface from the vendor to Lawson that creates the new records. My question is, do we have to have separate plans for catchup and regular from a Lawson and BSI perspective. Havin...

The table that warehouses all the BN15 information, what table is this in if I want to run a crystal rpt when I hold down my ctrl, shift and O key it shows PLN and the field name but I can't find the PLAN table for me to write a report out of crystal rpts on it. I spoke to our IT group and they can't find it either; they wondered if it's been renamed in the 9.01 version If so, anyone know what name it's called now because Lawson still calls it the PLAN table. Flex Plan change
Started By
yvonne.mccolloch
Does anyone know how (or if) one can change a flex plan year in Lawson We've been on Lawson about 10 years now and we've always had benefit plan years begin on January 1, but last year we changed our benefit year to match our fiscal year, starting July 1. At the time, I could not figure out how to change the Flex set up in Lawson so we trudged on knowing we'd have some problems. At the end of the year we ran up against a lot of issues I'd like to resolve if I could just figure it out so my HR...
