PR198 with CheckLS=YES goes into needs recovery

Started By  B Crace
We are currently implementing Lawson Security for HR/Payroll, and we are running into a very perplexing problem. When we run PR195, the job goes into needs recovery with the following error: Execution error : file 'E:\test90\law\test90\obj\IFJR.gnt' error code: 114, pc=0, call=1, seg=0 114 Attempt to access item beyond bounds of memory (Signal 11) However, we can then recover the job, and it runs to completion. We can then run PR197 with no errors. But, when we run PR198, the job goes...

PA52.4 New Hire Add Ins Template

Started By  K Crissman
I am trying to perform an upload directly to the PA52.4 using Lawson Add Ins to hire an applicant. However, I keep getting the error message: 'New value must be spaces because line has no item'. Besides the Hidden Key (Field f_296) are there any other hidden fields or special formatting that is required to upload to this screen. Thanks in advance for any advice!

'Blow away' old payroll run

Started By  Roger French
I'm doing some testing in a test environment, and I've got a new TIme Record file I'd like to load in the PR530 to run a new payroll. However there is an 'old' payroll run that hasn't completed because of various reasons. How can I 'blow away' this old payroll run, so that I can start fresh with the new time record file Do I really need a whole new data copy from another productline Or is there some other method I can use THanks in advance, Roger P.S. THis is 8.0.3 apps MSP10.

HRM underlying implementation: Java or Cobol? Irrelevant?

Started By  Fudlallah
Dear all, Please pardon the question out-of-the-blue... but if anyone does reply, you'd be doing me and the hospital I'm working for a big favor. We are currently evaluating Lawson's Human Resource Management System, and have actually done a lot of work in the last few months to do a thorough analysis. One question that we simply have not been able to resolve is the following though: Is the latest version of Lawson HRM (version 9 as we understand it) Java-based or Cobol-based Or perhap...

Year End PR27 parameters from prior years

Started By  Anita
We have not previously used PR27 to set Box 13 (Retirement Flag) on W2s - but there is data out there on PR11 (2002 - 2011) that will be deleted if we choose this path. What are we really losing by clearing out PR11 using PR127/PR27

Payroll Reporting

Started By  David Newton
I'll open this discussion with a simple question that has (I believe) a not-so-simple solution... Is there anyway in Lawson to run a report that shows a list of available reports with description I find the Lawson canned reports to be lacking, but if I could just see the available reports, I might find some of the things I'm looking for! Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Using Qualifications to Track Required Licenses

Started By  Cassie
I would like to start using Lawson to track required licenses. I see that you can set this up in PA08.1 (Qualifications) but am unable to figure out how to tie everything together to see which current employee's are in a job code that doesn't hold the required license or if that license is expired. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tracking users in ESS

Started By  msjmg111
Is there any way to track if a user has been using one of the ESS functions  We have a case where a person swears they completed open enrollment but we have not been able to find where that enrollment actually occurred.  We checked ProcessFlow and did not see an email confirmation and this has led to a broader discussion of how can we tell if a person has accessed ESS.  Does Lawson keep track of logins  Does your company have some way of keeping track of changes made by users

Year End Payroll

Started By  Lacey
We are working through our year end payroll and accrue based on hours worked. We need to split out LP140 into two seperate ones. One to end the year effective 1/1/12 and one for regular processing 1/6/12. To do this we will need to run the LP197 before payroll closes. Will this interfer We have never closed the LP197 before closing payroll before. What order have you used for year end processing

PR160 ACHFILE formatting change on 9.0.1.x

Started By  TBonney
We are upgrading from Lawson 9.0.0.x to 9.0.1.x and have noticed that when the PR160 is run, not only has the PMTOUT file changed, but so also has the ACHFILE. One step forward... They have fixed the PMTOUT file from 9.0.0 to 9.0.1, from a single line flat file to multiple records per employee/transaction, which was a blessing. ...Two steps back... However, did they also change the ACHFILE to the exact opposite On 9.0.x, there were carriage returns & line feeds in the file. However...

EMSS Managers and Process Flow for Personnel Actions

Started By  TRACY
Does anyone know that uses EMSS for managers to put in personnel actions for their direct reports if there is a way to route those pending actions to HR for approval  I was thinking you had to have Process Flow (which we don't), but wanted some other opinions/ideas, thanks.

Testing Roth setup and issues...

Started By  Sarah
I have several issues I can't seem to understand what is causing it: 1.  One employee looks fine on the pr140 csv file with their 401k ee cont amt pre and post tax and their er cont amt pre and post tax. On the pr140 pdf their pre tax ee cont amt or pre tax er cont amt are not on it at all. What's up with that 2. One employee we maxed out their check so it would max out their 401k ee cont amt, 401k er cont amt, but their 401k ER cont amt didn't show up at all on the pr140. It didn't do ...

401k match percent

Started By  Bernie R
we discovered an employee that received gross pay =$4.55.  No employee 401k deduction was calculated however a 401k employer match of $.18 was calculated.  Our PR05 for employer match is set up as percent of the 401k pay class.  If I try to change the calculation type on PR05 to percent of employee deduction, I get a warning message Changing Calc Type may cause unexpected results. We don't want to create new BN15 plans or deduction codes. Has anyone successfully changed an existing match from...

ESS Benefit Enrollment - BN31.1 Security

Started By  Bob Canham
We are currently working on bringing up Benefit Enrollment through ESS to allow for Life Event and New Hire enrollment.  We would like to do these as immediate updates, but have concerns with the security.  From what I have been able to find, the update is done on the BN31.1.  However, the BN31.1 doesn't allow to secure by the Employee field on the form.  Has anyone else secured the BN31.1 so that the employee logged in can only change their own data

Payroll Balancing

Started By  Deleted User
Would anyone have a (basic) balancing spread sheet for payroll that they'd be willing to share   I had an old one that was created based on reporting entities, etc. and was much too convoluted and captured pretty much every conceivable twist Lawson incorporates into payroll so its useless for my purposes in a  'real life' scenario  - if possible, I'm hoping yours has the various jobs that you use to cross-check values, etc.  Many thanks - stephanie.harrismail.house.gov

Flex Plan change

Started By  yvonne.mccolloch
Does anyone know how (or if) one can change a flex plan year in Lawson  We've been on Lawson about 10 years now and we've always had benefit plan years begin on January 1, but last year we changed our benefit year to match our fiscal year, starting July 1.  At the time, I could not figure out how to change the Flex set up in Lawson so we trudged on knowing we'd have some problems. At the end of the year we ran up against a lot of issues I'd like to resolve if I could just figure it out so my HR...

Fast help needed:: Does anyone know what 'file' holds the percentage change shown on PA67?

Started By  TRACY
I have found ISeries DBHRPRH holds the PA67 information, but what I am specifically looking for is the 'percentage shown' that is displayed on this file.  I am needing to dump 2011 information and can't find if there is a actual file with this percentage, or if I have to recompute in my SQL.  Thanks.

Question on RS Plans

Started By  Brandon Forbes
Hi all, we have a benefit plan that allows employee's to have money taken out of there checks which is then sent through a 3rd party to purchase McDonald's stock.  We currently have this set up as an 'SP' plan type because it fit somewhat close however this is not a direct stock purchase plan.  We would like to make this plan available to add/change during life events, however because this plan requires cycles be calculated there is built in logic in Lawson that only allows mid-year changes to p...

LP131

Started By  Sandy K
I am testing the zero out process which is currently done with Access and Add-ins.  I ran LP131 in Report only mode. Ran another in Update mode for one specific plan and one specific group for all balance types.  The update went into Waiting and when I examine the log it says, 'Parameter Error:  Finish Running LP131.'  I cannot find any documentation on LP131 but know after I run it in update I should run Absence Plan Close - LP197.  I tried running that and I receive the same error - to fin...

Headcount

Started By  BL
We are currently looking into the possibility of adding a statistical headcount to our GL feed to Oracle.  We do not have the GL package, but are able to interface Lawson to Oracle each pay period.  We can hardcode something into our system to give a headcount, but would like to utilize Lawson.  I can use PA06 to determine headcount, but I'm not getting expected results.   I've included screen shots of what the PA06 looks like after I've made my changes.  When I've made my changes, I am pr...

Pay Class Not Working

Started By  Brad
We have set up a pay class tied to a specific pay code and added a handful of employee deductions to the pay class.  When we process payroll, creating multiple checks based on unique pay codes and check groups, the employee deductions are withheld against the one associated pay code which is what we wanted.  But the kicker is when you add in company paid deductions into the mix, it is deducted against not only the pay code in the pay class, but is deducted with every check created in the payroll...
