On-line or Emailed Pay Advice

We are planning to stop mailing or hand delivering pay advice and make it available on-line or via email. We have a couple of options, but are wondering how other companies using Lawson accomplish this

Has anyone else noticed that the magnifying glass on the time summary page for managers in EMSS goes away from 8 to 9  We just noticed and all of our managers and documentation needs changed.  Just wanted to make sure I was just not missing a setting or something.

Address verification

Started By  Deleted User
We would like to use a web service to validate an employee's address (coming from a application system) and to obtain the correct county. We'd like to pull it in as part of our process flow to process personnel actions. Has anyone done this and do you have any recommendations of who we should use I looked at USPS, but I don't think it will return the county nor scrub the data.

Combining multiple records into one using SQL

Started By  Deleted User
We're trying to write a SQL statement that will take multiple rows of data (in this case, emergency contact data from the PAEMERGCNT table) and combine that into 1 record per employee. As you may know, in that table, there can be multiple records (many emergency contacts) for each employee. For an interface we're doing, we need to get all the emergency contacts into one record with the fields like contact1fname, contact1lname, contact2fname, contact2lname, etc.,. Any ideas on how to do that...

Default DC Enrollment

Started By  Deleted User
Our current DC plan is a match percent schedule and we allow both percentage and flat amount employee contributions. We will be instituting a default contribution for anyone who doesn't specifically elect a contribution, or for those who don't specifically waive enrollment into the plan. The default will be a 3 contribution. Since the match percent schedule contribution type doesn't have a default enrollment option, I'm trying to figure out the best way to move forward. The only 2 option...

FSA amounts over limit

Started By  mark.cook
On our RS plan type (FSA), the maximum contribution is set to $5000 annual. When I enroll online, I am allowed to go over the limit if I enroll into pending. This has worked properly for years and nothing has been changed on plan set up or enrollment set up. If web enrollments are pended to BS31, the limit should notify the employee that they cannot elect more than the amount in the contribution limit field on BN18.5. Has anyone seen this

PMTOUT changes in lsf9

Started By  Deleted User
Can anyone explain what changes occurred to the pmtout file with the lsf 9 upgrade I'm suspecting that we'll have to hire/pay our Bottom Line vendor to either tweak our current mapping for the check printing or have them rewrite from scratch, depending on what types of changes we are to expect.

ESS - W4 Forms

Started By  jagrwd
The Lawson Federal W4 form in ESS will work for us, but the W4 state forms are plain vanilla out of the box. I'd like to find a vendor that maintains these types of forms and has a canned/proven method of integrating them into Lawson ESS. If you know of a vendor, will you please forward the reference Thanks.

Maryland PR299 State Wages Issue

Started By  Deleted User
Hey All, I have two employees that live in Maryland but work in Virgina (no reciprocity). When we run the PR299 for 2009 it is placing their county taxable wages in the position for the Maryland State Taxable Wages. (276-286 on the EFW2 file). They do not have any MD State Taxable Wages so we would have expected this to be a zero. In the past it has always placed a zero, but this year it's not. Has anyone run into this with Maryland Thanks -- Chris O.

Amortizing pay outs through payroll

Started By  Kartik
One of my clients have the following requirements - they may agree to pay some their employee certain amount (it is a negotiated amount which varies with each employee), say $3000 as education allowance. They pay this out through payroll. These pay outs may happen periodically (not necessarily every payroll) and the amounts paid out each time need not be the same. Client wants a way of setting up these amounts and keeping track of the pay out and balance. A similar functionality is available ...
