Currently working on a NEWHIRE2 personnel action for PA52.4 addins, the template is based on the original upload which we have used for the past 6 months successfully. Electronic W2s

Started By  ChuckM
My company is considering delivering W2s electronically via EMSS.  We'd like to develop our own solution and would appreciate feedback from anyone else who has done same. Currently, we have a program (that we wrote) that reads the spoolfile produced by PR297 and tweaks the output position of the data to fit in the W2 boxes.  I'd like to modify that program to produce a separate PDF file of each W2 (using a blank W2 form as an AFP Overlay) with the naming convention: W2_yyyy_nnnnn, where nnnnn...

BSI error message on PR80

Started By  Colleen Bertagnolli
We are testing  10.0.6 and when I ran a PR80 for an hourly employee that encompassed more than one transaction date (i.e. time for week ending 7/4 and 7/11) I received the following message:  Error  -  Reserved as part of BSI interface display logic.  Never saw this before and have no idea what it means or where even to begin looking.  Any ideas

Email ACH fraud

Started By  TheDude
Hello, We've been experiencing a wave of ACH fraud via email lately. Our employees receive a fraudulent email, accidently click on the link (even after being instructed to not do so), the hacker somehow obtains there login info. and makes ACH changes via ESS. We're currently still on Ver9 and I've confirmed with Infor there is no additional audit trail aside of PR212 or querying data from EMACHDEPST. Ideally, if the employee would simply not acknowledge the fraudulent email, we wouldn't be exp...

Additional Premium to deduct from final check

Started By  Colleen Bertagnolli
Currently when an employee terminates, the health and dental benefits reflect a stop date on the last day of the current  month - they are covered for Health and Dental through the end of the month. So the question I have is , if their final check is say 10/4 and health and dental come out of that pay (we are paid biweekly), is their a way in Lawson to have the additional premiums for the final pay period of the month  (normally would be deducted 10/18 if they employee was active)to be included...

Garnishment with no Payee

Started By  hussey1213
We occasionally get a court order to begin garnishment of wages that indicates to hold funds until a further order is issued on where to submit the withheld monies. This causes us issue because the vendor set up on PR05 AP tab is a dummy vendor, the deduction is passed through AP520, invoice created, payment created, mailed and gets returned. My question is how do other organizations handle Garnishment orders that do not have a Payee defined

Employees working in multiple EINs within 1 company

Started By  Kristin Nixon
Currently we have multiple head/independent process levels but have not allowed employees to cross process levels. With the acquisition of another entity, I will need to add another head/independent process level. Since we already have employees working  here and at the organization we will bring on January 1, we must find a way for these employees to cross process levels. Therefore, we have to set up the system to meet our needs when employees work in multiple head/independent process levels wi...

Position Control and PA70

Started By  Deb Roberts
There's interest from the business to implement Position Control.  We don't currently utilize PA70, but I'm interested in hearing from or speaking with anyone who does use it effectively.  Our positions are coded by Job Code, Process Level and Department.  We use Lawson to initiate new job reqs (and route them for approval).    Anything we should consider  Thanks in advance.

LP51 Leave Dates

Started By  Eric Bratcher
I would like to use LP51 for tracking leave beginning and return dates only. Our time and attendance application is used to manage leave cases and associated time records. I want the beginning and return dates in Lawson for the sake of reporting on the information along with other Lawson data. Is anyone else using LP51 in this limited fashion From what I can tell, entering only leave dates on LP51 has no impact on other systems like payroll and benefits but would like confirmation from someone ...

Termination reasons voluntary or involuntary

Started By  Steve Martin
On PA57.1 you setup your termination reason codes but there is not a flag to identify the termination as voluntary or involuntary. Does anybody have suggestions on how we could set this up I thought we might have to add something like (VOL)/(INVOL) to the description but I would like to know if there is a better way. We are on version 10.0.1.

Automate Payroll Processing

Started By  Julia
I have a request to automate Payroll Processing because we have 11 affiliates and it takes time to run all of the jobs.  The kicker is they still want separate output for each affiliate and do not want it ran in bulk - plus the output in pdf form.  I have some thoughts on how to do this but wanted to see if anyone had a template that they use or have some experience with this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Julia

LP31/LP180 Employee Master Plan

Started By  Katy Prince
We've set everything up and when we use the LP180 to move employees from the accrual group into the allotment group the date for the allotment point moves with the employee and we don't want that.  We want the allotment point to be 01/01 and it is pulling over from the accrual, which was the month/day of the employees adjusted date of hire.   Any ideas how we can mass change those dates

Health Savings Plan HSA Company Contribution Recommendation

Started By  SWilkins
Our company now wants to add an employer paid contribution to employee enrolled HSAs.  Of course the preference is to also tier this with a max contribution and it's not necessaryily a percentage or dollar match so I already have approval to maintain the employee level amounts manually at the PR14 level.  Anyway, do others here generally just approach this by adding a company paid deduction code to the BN15 HSA plan or do you prefer to set this up as a separate BN15 plan  I've already created a...

Floating Holiday Allotment

Started By  agersh
We have a Floating Holiday plan which hours can be used/taken from 9/1 to 8/31. On 9/1 all employee Holiday banks are manually set to zero, then reset to 24 hours and are available starting 9/1.   For new hires their Holiday plan allotment bank hours are prorated and set using a manual LP70 transaction. For some unknown reason since we loaded the 2019 Holiday Bank Hours in September 2018 (as we have done in previous years) for the current fulltime employees the Holiday banks for our new hours ...

Immediate Allotment on New Hire (being ignored)

Started By  giesewendy
On our Floating Holiday Plan, we don't have a waiting period set up but the allotment is not happening in the month of hire.  It is instead giving the next month as the start of the pro-rated allotment.  Employees should get an allotment for the month in which they start, regardless of the date.   So, a January hire is getting the accrual for February-June and not January-June (our plan year ends June 30).  It is an annual of 80 hours or 6.67 per month... We have no waiting period on the 'Allot...

ACA - Rehire from 1 process level to another

Started By  Kristie Starzyk
We have multiple situations this year where we have employees who are terminated in 1 process level, then they are rehired in a different process level as benefit eligible.  Their 1095 is going to generate a 1H, 2A not covered not eligible 1095 for the old process level that they weren't even active in.  They are obviously getting a 1095 in the process level that they are current receiving benefits in.  Is there a way to suppress this without having to put their whole record as No Print on BN9...

One time Employer HSA contribution - PR39?

Started By  TressaG
Our organization has a one-time annual employer contribution for our HSA (Health Savings account) plan.  We do not have benefits plan(s) built out in S3 (or GHR) but just have a payroll deduction feed from our benefits vendor to PR514/PR14.  We have a separate ER HSA deduction code.  My question is about the best practice for loading the employer contribution to employee records for W2 reporting purposes.    In the past we have loaded it via PR82 at year end, however we would prefer to load i...

Store Years of Service in S3

Started By  giesewendy
We are having difficulty in our allotment of FH and are wondering if we should create a field and use service (instead of of cycles) to get the allotment working.  Basically, new hires would need a YOS from the adjusted hire date to be their qualifier for the allotment  - not number of pay cycles because they could be rehired and need to start over.   Have you ever stored the YOS in a field in S3 and have it update regularly

Long first name

Started By  Bekki
Hello,   I was wondering how anyone has handled an employees first name that is more than 15 characters on HR11.  I know the preferred name is longer, but that feeds into other systems so we want the actual preferred name to be captured in that field.   Wondering how this will impact W2's and 1095's  Will the record be rejected because the name/SSN aren't valid
