LP plan and groups

Started By  Marla
We had an absence plan that was for all employees (LP01).  Everyone accured at the exact same accural rate.  One plan (Lp01) one group (GR1) one structure, etc. GR1 group had the critera of everyone in a full time or part time with benefits employee status. Then management needed to change the accrual rate for financial reasons, and they wanted to grandfather everyone who was hired prior to 7/1/2008 into the existing accural rate and create a new accrual rate for employees hired after 7/1/2008...

Removing TA functionality from core HR suite

Started By  Joe O'Toole
Lawson recently announced that the Time Accrual module will not be supported in release 9.01 of HR and that the Absence Management module is the migration path. This is an 'add on' module that carries a steep initial purchase price and additional annual maintenance. It also opens up the customer to Lawson's new (aka more costly)  licensing and maintenance terms. While the replacement may offer increased functionality we feel this is unaceptable for customers who do not need it and are happy with...

ESS Time Entry - PAY UNITS

Started By  Deleted User
We're trying to allow ess users to enter their mileage via the ess time entry form using the HS01 form setup - but somehow PAY UNITS form field doesn't exist in HS01. The pay code and everything else is setup - just the ess time entry form is not. I tried modifying the PRTIMEFORM to include the field, which worked okay, but the field did not update PRPENDTIME, PAY_UNIT field (which I knew it wasn't) because those fields are not tied together...  does it make sense Has anyone impleted this on E...

pr132

Started By  HAYES
We have just upgraded from 7.226 to 9.0.  I am trying to change my set up to use flsa regulations. My problem is if we pass the overtime paycode it calculates the average weighted rate by dividing total 'regular dollars on the regular paycode by regular hours paid on the regular pay code.'  We also have a paycode that goes toward overtime that has hours but not money.  If I don't pass the overtime paycode, it  divides total dollars by total hours which the non paid paycode is 0.00 and goes below...

Future TA Last period end date

Started By  Joe Potter
Seems some future dated non-cash timerecords were processed and closed causing the next TA cycle to be closed for a large number of co-workers.   The lawson corrective measure...paint a screen to update the timerecords, purge the employees from the plan, re-enroll employees in the plans, re-convert starting balances and then let the system re-calc everything the next processing period is not a practical solution for the over 1,000 people who were impacted.   Can the 'run_date' on EMTAMASTR be up...

Payroll Positive Pay

Started By  Tom Sinkula
I would like information on creating a positive pay from payroll.  Specifically, where did you pull the data from  One suggestion is from the PRCHECK table, another is from the PMTOUT file.  I am in the process of creating this file and would welcome any suggestions.

LP Basic Set Up

Started By  Deleted User
Are service codes used for decrementing the balance and calculating accruals What is LP06  Formulas and LP07 Calculations used for, I thought it was for calculating accruals but then I found LP04.6 We have a very simple plan, 1 plan, 1 structure- based on biweekly payperiods and hours worked, employees earn accrual.  For example  Up to 26 pay periods they earn .0462 for every hour employee works, up to 52 pay periods thy earn .0500 for every hour worked, etc. Does anyone have a sample set u...

Career Management

Started By  Joe O'Toole
We're setting up the Career Management module for use in ESS/MSS. Having a hard time reconciling the meaning of the JOB indicator in the individual profile display. We have several job requirements assigned to the job code and inexplicably some have the JOB indicator and others do not. If the job requirement is unassigned from the job code it does not show in the profile screen at all. LIS has not been any help, saying their system has all the job requirements with the JOB indicator set. The doc...

Web Time Entry

Started By  Jodi Kruesel
We will be going live with EMSS in August and Web Time Entry in September.  My question pertains to Web Time Entry.  How do other companies handle Web Time Entry for a terminating employees final pay check  Do you have the EE use time entry or do you obtain their final pay period hours in some other manner such as a paper time card or spoken word and then the payroll departments keys that data into the PR35  I am trying to think through the timing of a terminated EE and the producing of payrol...

PR560 Payroll History Import

Started By  val
Hi All. We are in the middle of implementing Lawson. I am wondering, how many times can I run the PR560 conversion  I am having problems getting payroll history out of our current legacy system all in one big report.  So I am wondering, if I could maybe do the import in 3 different sections, one for check history, one for earn code history and amounts, and a 3rd time for deductions history and amounts.  Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Version 9 Server Requirements

Started By  Carrie Busbee
We are being forced to consider other HR/Payroll vendors in response to the new system foundation in version 9. Does anyone out there plan to (or currently) use Linux instead of HP-UX We are UNIX, Oracl DB shop and expect to grow from a 20k employee company to approx 80k in the next five years and are concerned with scaleability/cost of servers.

MN PERA report

Started By  KevinY
Hi -- we are going to implement LSF 9, and are trying to locate any MN public sector clients who have created PERA reports (MN Public Employee Retirement).  We're trying not to re-invent the wheel.  If there is anyone who has created these reports, we'd really like to pick your brain.  Thanks!

Benefits Enrollment - ESS

Started By  Elizabeth Brubaker
We are on Lawson 9.0 environment. When an employee gets to the end of ESS benefit enrollment and selects 'keep these benefits,' he gets the error message 'not authorized to access employee information.'  If he selects 'okay, ' he gets the message that is benefits have not been updated.  However, his selections are correctly going to BS31. Has anyone encountered this error message before and know the solution  Thank you.

Tracking FMLA in LP

Started By  Deleted User
I'm attempting to follow the most recent guru letter (see https://www.danalytics.com/guru/letter/archive/2008-02.htm) in setting up an LP plan to track FMLA.  Following the screen shots one by one I have questions on some.  On the group criteria, can you tell me where the intermittent leave is coming from  A UDF  The beginning value is I and ending is N.  Second question, Eligibility Rule on LP03.3 the article mentions orgs allow ee's to take FMLA immediately.  If I want LP to calculate eligib...

Unpaid TIme Pay Code

Started By  Jodi Kruesel
We use PR134 to load standard hours for employees.  We currently manually code any exception time and are in the process of moving to Employee/Manager Web Time Entry.  We currently code unpaid time to a specific pay code as negative hours so that the pay is reduces.  How do others manage unpaid time  Do you use a positive hours pay code or negative  I have heard of companies that do both and with the transition to self-service time entry I would like to explore the options for using a pay code...

Taxing Separate Time Records

Started By  Deleted User
We are currently using the 'process group' to allow separate taxation for multiple time records.  However we have discovered that by processing this way the system also treats the time records separately for garnishment purposes. For example: An employee is being paid retro pay of $500 and a salary of $1,000.  We want to tax the retro pay separately. We use a process group code telling the system to tax it separately and it does.  But if this person has a garnishment, the system doesn't look at...

Manager Self Service and PA100

Started By  jph826
Our application is 8.1 and we recently upgraded our Env to V 9.0.3. We have an issue with the PA100. Any actions submitted through Manager Self Service are showing on the PA100 with blank 'From' and 'To' fields. The Manager can successfully enter an action, we can see it in the inbasket with all of the details, we can successfully approved the action and we can successfully see all of the detail on the PA52. However, when the PA100 runs, it shows only the Employee number, name, the name of the a...

ERecruit - Candidate Contact Page

Started By  John Costa
Sorry if I posted this to the wrong forum but I didn't really see where else I can put this. On the Candidate Contact page of the eRecruit system, there is a section called 'Work Eligibility' where a candidate can choose to enter their Social Security Number. Is there any way to suppress or hide this particular section from being displayed  Thanks in advance.

Increment of Last Pay Rate Change

Started By  psfunkytek
I've been asked to create a report that give employees previous rate of pay, current rate of pay and the date of last increase.  The two latter parts are easy, but the first part is a bit more tricky.  We don't have any 'common' increase dates and so I can't pull the prior salary based on dates. Since I cannot find a field where Lawson stores the of the last increase, the 'max' row in the payratehist, pactionhist, hrhistory etc. pulls the date of last increase along with the current salary. ...

Benefits Enrollment

Started By  Elizabeth Brubaker
Currently, we are in the process of moving to 9.0 environment only.   We use ESS for our benefits enrollment process.    When testing benefit enrollment , the process goes well until 'keep these benefits' is selected as the final step.  At that point, we get the error message 'Value not in list: A.'  Has anyone else ever gotten this error message and, if so, what was the solution   Thank you.
