GL23.1 - Template Accounting Unit Maintenance
**Form purpose
Use Template Accounting Unit Maintenance (GL23.1) to display and maintain
accounting unit template conversion records generated by Acct Unit Template
Conversion Load (GL123). You can add an accounting unit, delete an accounting
unit, change the name or address of an accounting unit, and add information
such as address and user fields for all accounting units or for individual
accounting units.
**Prerequisites
You must run Acct Unit Template Conversion Load (GL123) to load the accounting
unit template record for a run group, company, and template into the template
conversion file before you can display and modify the accounting unit records
for that run group, company, and template.
**Process at a glance
1. Define an accounting unit template.
1a. Access this form and choose the New Template button to open Define
Accounting Unit Template (GL14.6) and define the template header.
1b. Define the first-level accounting unit in the template using GL14.1.
1c. (Optional) Use the Accounts button to open Posting Accounts (GL14.2)
and assign accounts to the accounting unit.
1d. Repeat steps 1b and 1c until all the accounting units have been
added to the template.
2. Create an accounting unit template conversion file for a company, using
Acct Unit Template Conversion Load (GL123).
3. (This step - optional) Modify accounting unit information, using Template
Accounting Unit Maintenance (GL23.1).
4. Add the accounting units to the company, using Mass Accounting Unit
Addition (GL124).
**Required fields
Run Group, Company, and Template uniquely identify a record in the accounting
unit template conversion file and are required.

Choose the Mass Info button to open Mass Add Accounting Unit Information
(GL2.3) and add information that applies to all the accounting units
displayed.
Choose the Maintenance (*) button to open Accounting Unit Information (GL23.2)
and add information specific to a single accounting unit.

GL23.3 - Mass Add Accounting Unit Information
**Form purpose
Use Mass Add Accounting Unit Information (GL23.3) to add accounting unit
information applicable to all the accounting units displayed on Mass Add
Accounting Unit Information (GL23.1).
**Prerequisites
You must inquire on a run group, company, and template on GL23.1 before you
transfer to this subform. The information entered on this subform will be
added to the records uniquely identified by that run group, company, and
template.
**Required fields
You must select X (Select) in the Select field for each line of information
you want added to the records.
