GL10.1 - Company
**Form Purpose
Use Company (GL10.1) to define and maintain a general ledger company. The
company represents the highest business unit or legal entity in your
organization. For example, the company could be a corporation, holding
company, division, or region. You can structure the company as either a single
business entity or as multiple business entities under a single corporation
using a company group. Within each company, you can define up to five
organizational hierarchy levels. To assign an address, enter or select an
address code.
**Processing Effect
The company identifies your base operating currency, accounting periods and
fiscal year, period ending dates, and valid chart of accounts.
Updated Files
ADDRDATA -
CUACCT - Currency gain/loss accounts associated to the company will be
deleted when company is deleted.
GLADDRESS - Stores the company address which is maintained by this program.
GLCODES - All system code records associated to a company are deleted
when a company is deleted. GL, RJ, and CA records are created
for a company when a company is added.
GLSYSTEM - Used to store the company parameter definition maintained by
this program.
JBKSEQNBR - Stores the last transaction posting sequence option for a
company, if the sequential transaction posting option is a
selected company parameter.
JBOOKHDR - Used to validate a company's system control journal books.
This file is also updated by deleting the journal books
associated to a company when the company is deleted.
TRCODES - This file is updated with a company's system default
translation codes when a company is added. These records will
be deleted when the company is deleted.

CURELAT - Used to validate the existence of currency exchange and/or
translation.
CUTABLE - Used to validate the existence of a currency table.

GLMASTER - Used to validate the existence of the company's posting

GLNAMES - Used to validate the existence of a company's accounting unit.

INSTCTRYCD - Used to validate the country code for VAT and Intrastat
reporting.
JBKOPCODE - Used to validate operator access to the system control journal
books.
JBKSYSCODE - Used to validate system journal books which can be applied to
the General Ledger system.
GL10.2 - Backposting Control
**Form Purpose
Use Backposting Control (GL10.2) to open a period for backposting. The period
must have a Limited Close status. An asterisk displays next to the periods
that have been backposted to.

program.
