PR298 - W-2 Magnetic Media
**Form Purpose
Run W-2 Tape Creation (PR298) to create a tape file of W-2 information for
government reporting on magnetic tape.
**Processing Effect
The correct rates and limits for the current year default in the fields on
the Rate tab but can be overridden. If you type another payroll year, you must
manually enter the rates and limits on the Rate tab.
Consult your data processing department before running this program to insure
the appropriate parameters are entered.
You must select a state tax authority to create a file containing Code S
records in addition to the federal reportable information for the state
selected. The state tax authority can only be WV or MO.
Note This program is only used for West Virginia and Missouri as of tax year
2001. Use PR299 (MMREF File Creation) for other states and for reporting to
the Social Security Administration.
