401K

We are looking into changing providers for our 401K.  Currently, the file is built from some old COBOL jobs.  We were wondering if there was a job we could run that would give us a lot of the info we need to send the provider.  We currently use the BN106 files as a starting point for our other benefit providers, but I was told this would not work for the 401K. How do you currently get the info you need for 401K providers  The only other option I can think of would be trying to find the info in...

ACH for Payroll Garnishments

Taxable Fringe Benefits

In app v7, it was possible to run a payroll for taxable fringe benefits only - however, I'm finding in v8.1 that no check ID is assigned by the PR160, so the pr won't close.  Any idea if this is still possible Thanks in advance

Expense Reimbursements via Payroll

We are looking at paying our expense reimbursements through the Payroll system. Currently, we have a small group of employees that we pay mileage too, but we pay it as a negative deduction rather than an earnings. Pay increase

An employee, multiple positions The employee's main position (union), union contract specifies that at 2080 hours, there's an increase in pay (over time may/may not be counted, depending on contract)  The employee has another position (Casual - Non-Union) The hours worked in the casual position cannot be counted towards his Union job's 2080 hours. Looking for a way to secure pay rate for a subset of employees.

Is anyone aware of a way to secure the payrate for a select group of employees  We are trying to secure the rate of pay for our executive staff from users who need to have access to the rate of pay for all other employees.  Has anyone found a way to accomplish this  We are currently on version 9.0 with LAUA Security, and we have looked at using HR Employee Security and Data Item Security but it seems to restrict it for all employees - not just the select number

Blank Earnings

Hoping someone has seen this before - I'm baffled! I have absolutely no idea how this happened, but we have an employee who received his Jan check (and it was a standard, regular pay) and had the correct net pay, however, there are no earnings associated with the payment.  If I view his data on PR50.2, all looks correct - his gross, net and deds are fine.  On PR51.1, the earnings page is totally blank.  We can't void the check - the PR141 produces an error that says the gross is negative and the...

Looking for a table to get most recently completed payroll date

I'm looking for a Lawson table that will tell me the date of the most recent completed payroll.  In the Lawson ERD, I've seen a reference to a PRMONITOR table which looks like what I want, but I can't find that in my 8.03 system.  I'm connecting to the Lawson database via an MS Access ODBC connection. LSF9 UPgrade Deadline

We are on application 8.1.  Does anyone know if there is a deadline when companies on 8.1 have to upgrade to version 9  I can see version 8.0. upgrading but usually Lawson runs more than one version. Also, what is the deadline to upgrade the enviornment to LSF9 Lastly, is the upgrade from 8.1 to 9 just an upgrade or a full implementation  I assume we would just need to have difference training. I'd appreciate on any insignt you can share with me. Barbara

System Control GL01.1 and GL01.2

Does anyone know the benefit and hindrance of using system control in the GL system  I know you can't close GL if the sub systems are not closed, how does GL know if PR is closed or not.  Right now we don't use System Control for PR or other sub systems except for AP. Does Lawson recommend it  Do you clients recommend it Does it work the same way in LSF9 as it would in 8.1 Appreciate your help. Barb

LawOledb DME string

I am working on design for some custom interfaces, like garninshment detail for various vendors in their predescribed format.  I am using C .net and comparing ODBC vs. LawOledb access.  Would like to use LawOledb for security setup, but I have trouble duplicating the database access string.  I have listed below the ODBC that pulls from PAYDEDUCTN, EMPLOYEE and PREMPGARN.  I cannot figure out how to do the same in LawOledb. PA52 and MS Addins error

Hello, We are infrequent users of MS Addins. When aptempting to use an older MS Addins for PA52 (that had worked previously) we started to encounter problems. The Addin was recreated from scratch and still recieved the same error. Education Listing

I have gotten request from my HR group that they would like to use Lawson to track all continuing education classes an employee may take after they have been hired. The information they are looking to track by individual employee would be class, institution, grade and complete date. I have not encountered this before and looking to see if anyone else is doing anything similar. In reviewing the system it looks like the only option would be to use PA20.1 to capture this information

We currently have Lawson HR feeding the time Accruals back to Kronos on a weekly basis so that employees can look at their balances in Kronos (using Lawson Time Accruals). Hello.  Lawson put the text below in the notes for 9 but doesn't name the field.  I assume that it's on EMPLOYEE but may be on PAEMPLOYEE.  Anyone  Thanks. Human Resources - 4 Digit SSN field added - HR To better facilitate security rules that prevent users from accessing the full social security number (SSN), a new field has been added to the database to store a 4 digit SSN.  This field is a behind the scenes field that can be used for any custom reporting.

For example, an employee is an RN III today, but when they were hired 5 years ago, they were hired as an RN I. We are changing the waiting period for an LP group. Employees hired prior to April 1 will remain in Group A and have a 60 Day waiting period. Employees hired April 1 and after will be Group B and have a 90 Day waiting period. No employees will be moving from Group A to B. So there is no need to update absense management.
