OK, So I've just now realized that there is a selection called "Non-RPT" File when you go to upload a report in Reporting Services. I looked in the Infor KB to see if something would give me a hint as to when you would want to do this. Seems that you can upload a word doc or excel file (?).
I can't think of why you would want to?
Is anyone doing this and why (what is the Business Need)?
Thanks!

Word is used to give documentation to non-Lawson financial report users on how to navigate through a bursted report, how to drill, etc. Basically, a how-to manual with screen prints. It is published in the same module where their financial reports are located.

I see...So, you put this static document there so that it is accessible from the same dashboard module as the reports they may be using. And, you can update it by just uploading the revised copy without trying to figure out who might have a copy that you need to replace..
Got It!
Any other uses from anybody else reading the thread????

We use it to publish PDFs. Could be instructions for budgeting or how to correctly use our one and only Process Flow process. We also use PDFs for information that is gathered from sourses outside of Lawson that needs to be manually compiled and manipulated.
