This winter we will be moving from one warehouse location to a new facility, along with having all new bins for the inventory items. So all our IC12 inventory items will need a new bin entered. Currently in order to change bins on inventory items, you use the IC26 screen which brings the amount on hand along with the item when moving to another bin.

Does anyone know or have experience with moving over 1,000 items ? I would like to use the upload function, to put in the new bin, but I want to make sure the inventory amount on hand moves with the bin change.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

You can upload to IC22 and that will let you move stock on hand to a new company, location and bin.

Because we are calling the new location the same as the one we are moving from, I am unable to use this screen as the From- To locations need to be different.

Oh! I misunderstood. You can use the self-contained workbook Don Petersen created. It's a free download from Infor and requires some setups but it uses macros to upload to IC26 and hit Transfer. We use it when they do remodels.

Ussing addins like Kat mentioned you can first change all your inventory items to N on bin Tracked and also blank out the bin location. Then (using addins) load your new locations and flip the flag back to Yes on bin tracked. It will place the previous on hand quantities in the new bin.
You will need to make sure all shipments (wh32) have been filled and try not to have any outstanding POs out for replenishment. I would find the best time in the week to do this with minimal replenishment POs being out. Those will need to be fixed either when they come in or change the PO line to reflect the new location. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I have tried creating an upload using the IC26.1 table, am running into an issue since the table requires a "T" transfer and not able to do this with the uploads??

I will check out this download, thanks.

Thanks, that is an interesting option, I will give it a try.

Thanks for your reply, I have tried to do this. But I am unable to set the item to N, based on unable to have Bin Tracking flag set to Y. Error Message: Cannot set bin tracking=Y:item not inventory tracked.

And 2) cannot set the Inventory Tracking to N, blank out the bin, and set Bin Tracking to N. Receive error message "Cannot change, item loc exists as a replenishment source.
