I am not sure if this is an issue with Punchout in general or with our Punchout vendor. When an item has a description greater than 30 characters, we are receiving comments. We do not have this issue with RQC on items with descriptions greater than 30 characters. Has anyone had this issue and how was this resolved?

I haven't seen that happening at our hospital. Although we may have not had a description greater that 30 characters from our Punchout vendors.

We have this with Grainger, but don't see it as an issue. They have extensive descriptions and it word wraps into the comment field on them. They are X items here. Grainger's the only punchout vendor we currently have.

Our issue is there is no way to remove the 3 comments. We found out that if the description is larger than 30 characters, the system works that way and has no parameters to not put in the comments. The suggestions were to have the vendor truncate to 30 characters or map the description to another field.

Our users can and do delete the comments when they want to put in their own. If a requester can do it, I would think IPA should be able to?

The issue is that there is nothing different between a comment created automatically from one which was created due to the item description being over 30 characters. Lawson/Infor's suggestion was to have the Punchout vendor truncate the description to 30 characters or look for comments where the first 30 characters are the item's description in order to determine if they were automatically generated.
