Absence Management - Allotments

    We have a situation that I am struggling with and am hoping someone can help. We allot our EE's Personal Holidays. We have been using Lawson LP since 4/1/06 and have had a few issues with the allotment process both 01/01/07 and 01/01/08. Our company rules are: 1) If you are a new hire hired between 1/1 and 6/30 of the hire year, you get 2 days immediatley upon hire 2) If you are hired between 7/1 and 12 31 of the hire year, you get 1 day immediately upon hire 3) Each year thereafter, you are to be allotted 2 days on 01/01 of each year. 4) If you transfer to a Personal Holiday eligible status mid year, you are allotted 1 or 2 days based on you adjusted hire date and then we are manually adjusting to meet an additional requirement that is based on the transfer date. The problem I am trying to resolve is with the EE's who were employed prior to 01/01/07 and in 2007 transferred not being eligible for PH to being eligible. The system correctly allotted them time immediately after the transfer took place but when the LP140 was ran for 01/01/08 they were not given the 2 days they should heve received. I am trying to get a handle on this and have reviewed the KN article titled What are allotment examples? It seems that examples 3 and 4 are similar to what we need. Has anyone had experience in getting their allotments to works correctly. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who is knowledgable in LP set up. My direct e-mail is jakruesel@fedins.com

      Without having all of the particulars (personnel actions, service dates, etc.), it's been my experience that using LP70's is still necessary. Even with some straightforward plans, I have had to recommend to clients using the add-ins to upload occasional LP70s. You can use hybrid allotments and accruals on LP03.2 (moving from one cycle to another), but sometimes that type of rule makes it much tougher for the vast majority of people. In my most recent implementation of this, I recommended monthly uploads for a similar type of scenario.

        Phil - Can you clarify how the allotment Date (ours is set to Adjusted Hire Date) and the Allotment Point field (ours is currently set to blank) work? Is the Date field only for the first allotment and the allotment point used for future allotments? There was a knowledge base article that stated that but I could not get GSC to clarify how the use of these two fields. For the group we are having a problem with it is only there ongoing annual allotments that they are not receiving on 01/01 of each year. The system is not wanting to give it to them until the month and day that has been pulled into their LP31 Allotment point (which has their month and day of adjusted hire). I suspect that the Allotment Point on the LP31 needs to be 01/01 but I am trying to figure out how to not have to manually update this for the transfer situation that these EE's have had. Any suggestions would be helpful.
