Does anyone know the exact versions where Time Accrual stops working and the backward compatability of Absence Management? I remember hearing that TA would not work (or was not supported) on 9.0.1 or later releases – only on 9.0.0.x. As for LP can it be run on 8.03 if you’re on LSF 9 environment? We may postpone our 8.03 to 9.0.1 upgrade so I'd also like to hear if anyone has TA or LP working acceptably on "non supported" application platforms. Thanks.

TA works on 9.0.1. It's more an issue of when lawson stops supporting it. There is another recent post somewhere here where I explained it.

I did a quick search before posting my initial question but came up empty. If anyone knows where this post is please advise. Thanks!

Time Accrual table access after upgrade to application release 9.0.2
            Article ID:5321093
            Description:
When we upgrade to the 9.0.2 application release will we be able to access Time Accrual tables?
            Resolution:
As customers migrate to 9.0.1, the Time Accrual (TA) tables will still be able to be used until Lawson decommissions the 9.0.1.x release. When 9.0.2 is released, the TA tables (and programs) will be retired. This means they will no longer be delivered to customers and no longer present in the productline.

For various business reasons, customers may wish to maintain the TA historical data. Several options are available:

            1. Convert the TA historical data into Absence Management.
            2. Create custom tables that are direct duplicates of the current TA tables and manage those tables
                     when migrating to future releases.
            1. Export this data and put it in a non-Lawson database that would serve as your archive.

Suggestions for moving forward with option 2:

            1. Create custom tables for some of the TA tables (examples: EMTATRANS, EMTATRNSUM, EMTAMASTR & PLANMASTER) by naming and defining the new tables identical to what they are now.

            1. Next, create custom versions of programs TA60, TA65 and TA290. From a coding perspective, the only change to the programs would be to switch the table names from the old TA tables names to the custom table names.  You may also want to limit these programs to inquiry only so no one changes the data resident in these tables.

            1. One other consideration is to build custom upgrade programs to move existing data from a pre-9.0.2 release to the custom tables.
