We currently have ESS for new hire and open enrollment. Status changes and life events are handled manually by benefits staff. When an employee is hired, a report is run which populates a BN Date field for when an employee can enroll via ESS. It is the first of the month following one month of employment for full time and the first of the month following one year for our part time 1000 employees.

Our dilemma is that we have had two instances of part time 1000 employees being changed to full time within one or two months of their employment date. The BN Date is changed to reflect the full time status and it allows them to enroll via ESS as it falls within the enrollment "window." However, it makes their coverage effective the first of the month following rather than the first of the month after the status change.

Has anyone else run into this issue? We then have to give the employee a refund and set them up with their correct effective date.

Are these employees in different employee groups? I was wondering if when they changed groups if the employee group might be driving what they can see or not see in benefit enrollment?

They are in different employee groups. However, our report that populates the date field is based on employee status. In this case A1 is full time and A2 is part time 1000.
